Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Sunday, December 25, 2022

Two busloads of migrants were dropped off in front of Vice President Kamala Harris' residence in Washington, DC, on Christmas Eve in 18 degree weather, a law enforcement source told CNN. The source said there was no one from any organization or aid group on the ground to receive them in front of the Naval Observatory, where the vice president's home is located.

"A separate administration official confirmed the arrival and said law enforcement has estimated that approximately 50 more migrants are inbound and expected late Christmas Eve, likely after 10 p.m. ET. The initial two busloads were taken to local shelters, according to the official.

It's not clear who is responsible for sending the migrants to the Naval Observatory, though CNN reported earlier this year that Texas Gov. Greg Abbott had sent buses of migrants north, including to a location outside Harris' home."

Obviously this was the Rwing White Christian Nationalist thing to do to celebrate Christmas.

Amazing how deaf the Twice baked administration is to the plight of the Southern border states even when the evidence of an unsecure border is dropped on their doorstep. Calling it a Republican stunt does not solve the problem. They're more interested in getting LGBTQ centers in Pakistan than doing something about the border. Nero fiddles while Rome burns. We spend BILLIONs of taxdollars on "homelessness" there's a whole industry related to it, it will never be solved the way we are approaching it. Not much different really than Healthcare, Education, or the Military.

It's all a funding scam at this point.

If X doesn't exist where does that leave politicians and their remora's? There's no way this country every becomes better with the government sloshing around so much money. El Paso faced a major surge in illegal crossings' over the weekend, senior border official says

More than 2,400 migrants crossed into the United States near El Paso, Texas, daily over the weekend, according to a senior Border Patrol official, marking what he described as a "major surge in illegal crossings" in the region.

"Over the weekend, the El Paso Sector experienced a major surge in illegal crossings, with a 3-day average of 2,460 daily encounters, primarily through the downtown area of El Paso. We will continue to keep the public informed as the situation evolves," said acting Chief Patrol Agent Peter Jaquez of the El Paso Sector in a tweet.

From 'Amazing Gracie the rightwing seasonal fruitcake'...

"Amazing how deaf the Twice baked administration is to the plight of the Southern border states even when the evidence of an unsecure border is dropped on their doorstep..."

The 'plight of southern states' is summed up in the singular
sentence that "white racists continue to be alarmed that
brown folk of all types are moving to 'their region' of the country".

A). White people don't OWN a region of the country.
Nobody does.

B). Brown folk have the 'right to settle anywhere'.

C). The GOP recognizes the racist nature of its base and
so repeatedly makes hay of these issues, to fling
red meat to their ravenous hordes of deplorable
followers.

In sum. Your party is a Party of Racist White People.
It's why your party is lucky if they pull even 5% of
the minority vote in election after election.

That "plight" at the boarder was manifested by the previous administrations orders that have not changed. Orange pig face ex POTUS allowed those people to pile up at the Mexican boarder and you fascist hicks would be up in arms if Biden did change that order so there's that. That fact remains that those white supremacist governors of Floridah and Texass are breaking international law and American laws with these abject racist maneuvers and should probably go to jail for this crap. Also, those Venezuelans that they are screwing over would have more than likely vote for right wing scum like those governors, as they hate all things socialism, if they had not been used and abused by them. Now, they will receive care and humane treatment by the left wing and hopefully change their minds about voting for a white wing racist fascist like Abbot.

Now it's entire families and the amount of human, sex and drug trafficking is staggering. The 2019 and 2020 numbers were vastly below what they are now and I can point to Biden's rhetoric on the campaign trail, his immediate reversal of his predecessor's policies, like remain in Mexico, his lax enforcement and complete detachment from the issue - neither he or his border czar VP have even visited the border.

It is worse than it's ever been and when 42 ends, which Biden favors it ending the numbers are expected to skyrocket from where they are now, which is already at record highs.

Migrants Dropped Near VP Harris Home on Frigid Christmas Eve
www.voanews.com

...Some were wearing T-shirts despite temperatures hovering around 15 degrees Fahrenheit (-9 degrees Celsius). It was the coldest Christmas Eve on record for Washington, according to The Washington Post....

How cold was it in El Paso, TX at the time?

In the afternoon of Christmas Eve, the temperature was in the mid- to upper-40s in El Paso, TX.

I've seen other reporting that that said some of the people sent to 15-degree temperatures was wearing shorts, and did not know where they were going.

This was a political stunt by Gov Abbott, intentionally hurting people for the Republican cause.

Another view, from across the pond...

US: Migrants dropped in frigid weather outside VP's home
www.dw.com

...Over 100 migrants, including small children, were dropped-off in freezing temperatures outside Vice President Kamala Harris' home over the holiday. A White House spokesperson described the move as a "cruel" stunt.

Rights groups and the US government sharply criticized on Sunday the bussing of dozens of asylum-seekers in frigid and dangerous weather conditions to Washington, D.C.

What happened with the people on the bus?

Between 110 and 130 people seeking asylum in the United States were placed on charter busses and driven from the border with Mexico in Texas to the US capital.

They were dropped-off near the residence of Vice President Kamala Harris on Saturday night, when Christmas Eve celebrations were taking place.

Young children were among those on board the busses. Some people were only clad in t-shirts when they reached Washington, D.C. At the time, temperatures in the capital were around 15 degrees Fahrenheit (-9 degrees Celsius).

The journey and drop-off took place as a massive winter storm brought snow, ice and extreme cold to 60% of the US....

Oneisanut's off his NYPost rocker.

Reality:

"On the same day DHS announced that Venezuelans would be expelled under Title 42, the City of El Paso received the promised $2 million from the federal government for upfront costs related to migrants.

Meanwhile, the city is still in the process of submitting reimbursement requests for the more than $6 million spent during the last quarter for the migrant surge."

In the meantime several council members (El Paso) have cried out about militarization" of the Texas border by Gov. Greg Abbott.

"Three days later, under the cover of darkness, Texas National Guard troops stationed Humvees and staged reams of concertina wire on northern edge of the Rio Grande. The soldiers gripped their rifles in the face of men, women and children seeking asylum."

And then there's this:

The mayor also announced that FEMA has promised to send an additional $7 million to assist the city and El Paso County.

So who to believe? All the reporting or Oneisanut screaming "BIden's pure evil!"

1) If they can't provide a valid claim for asylum, then yes they're 100% illegal and have ZERO business being here and again refuse them entry/send them back.

2) Fine companies 1MM per illegal employed by a company (knowingly and unknowingly) and it would most likely stop tomorrow.

I'll even go a step further, if Democrats were onboard with this, we could use the fines and money that has to be diverted to helping illegals to actually helping our own underserved citizens. Everyone wins.

Good to see you admit that.

Processing of a claim takes a while. And until that claim is determined to be invalid, they are not "illegal."

So, and going back to the topic of this thread, Gov Abbott seemed to have abused legal asylum seekers.

... Fine companies 1MM per illegal employed by a company (knowingly and unknowingly) and it would most likely stop tomorrow. ...

Yeah, that looks good on paper (or in your browser) but why has it not been put into effect? Even under the Trump administration?

Could it be that companies have a substantial political effect and they actually want the immigration to continue (for reasons i stated earlier)?

Meow Contempt will be SO proud!

I am.

It was warmer up there than it was in SW Texas Christmas Eve---so yay for the wretches!

And just as a supplementary primer for any dumbfuq who happens to be reading this, what's been happening at the border the past several years isn't some status quo, ambient condition that's somehow existed all along.

It's a deliberate and manufactured mass-migration strategy in play both here and in Europe. Unfortunately, whomever is pulling the strings of the current US Regime with regards to their "Stateless Utopian" strategy is also simultaneously creating tremendous opportunities for the drug cartels.

The Wretches herd towards Eagle Pass. Resources are deployed there. The narcos then know to cross in Ojinaga or Sanderson---where the BP can't tactically respond quickly enough because they're processing new Democrat voters 200 miles east.

This is a crisis because we end up losing national treasures like George Floyd due to the influx of Fentanyl.

Oh, what that man could have been were he still with us!

BTW...A colored boy from a low-income neighborhood in St. Louis or Chicago has a more (actually) legitimate claim for "asylum" than does some fat little squaw and her spawn from some village in Honduras.

But it never really was about "asylum".....

Well, this is interesting...

Not really why not make a thread if you think it's so interesting.

@#74 ... And just as a supplementary primer for any dumbfuq who happens to be reading this, ...

So anyone reading your comment is a "dumbfuq?" Even those who might agree with your comment's assertions?

OK, I gotta say, that comment alone seems to show a lack of any manner of logic in your comments.

But, let's move on...

... It's a deliberate and manufactured mass-migration strategy in play both here and in Europe. ...

Got links for that assertion?

Seriously, that is an amazing assertion. What's yer got to back it up?

... This is a crisis because we end up losing national treasures like George Floyd due to the influx of Fentanyl. ...

Your use of the word "because" seems to indicate you have evidence of cause and effect. Please state that evidence.

thx.

.... BTW...A colored boy from a low-income neighborhood in St. Louis or Chicago has a more (actually) legitimate claim for "asylum" than does some fat little squaw and her spawn from some village in Honduras. ...

And your substantiation for that comment is?....

I mean really, you seem to make some quite radical, yet interesting, assertions.

If only you would provide any manner of evidence or substantiation for those assertions, then we could have a conversation. And I might even learn something.

But your comments seem to be focused more upon disruption than discussion.

That's on you and the comments you post.

Yer up.

Look, say what you will, there is an emergency at the border. Plain and simple, we are being invaded by other countries. The federal government is putting near no attention nor money into this invasion.

I live a few counties away from the border. Near every week, there are several high speed chases through our town. Cars and trucks wind up speeding and not making a curve and crashing instead. Sometimes into people's homes, while they are at home. Suddenly those that were packed into the truck bail out, running right through their living rooms. No, I'm not making this up. What would you do, if you have settled down and are watching tv, to suddenly have a truck come crashing through the wall of your house and a bunch of strangers get up and run through it, headed for the back door?

I notice these sanctuary cities are all crying about dealing with a few thousand people in a month. There are literally over 5,500 people coming in each day in Texas...each friggin day. Not a thousand a month. Until something is done to address this invasion, it's time some of these cities that haven't had to deal with this invasion, who also aren't getting money from the federal government to have a small taste of what's going on down here. It seems to be the only way to force attention on the problem since Washington has been ignoring it. Putting it on their doorstep seems to be the only way to get attention that can't be ignored and brushed off.

Notice that neither Kamala nor Biden have actually come down to the border line itself to have a look. Instead they have absolutely avoided having to come down and see it for themselves while the director of immigration has come down and claimed there isn't a problem here. None what so ever. He didn't go down to the border either, choosing to stay in the offices. The border guards were unbeliving of this issue of no problems, while they are being snowballed every day with not enough people to deal with it. In other words they are whitewashing the issue and refusing to deal with it. The problem is, it's not going away.

I notice there was a big hue and cry about the dumping of them on Kamala's virtual doorstep in the winter there. Guess what? It's no different down here. There are so many coming in, there are no facilities to deal with them here. Here they are sleeping outside, on the street because there are no places to put them. All the facilities here are full, with people sleeping in the floor inside because there are no beds for them. No room for them to take in more, with thousands waiting their turn at coming across that haven't arrived yet.

I live a few counties away from the border

I grew up on the border....in Presidio County....in a very remote ranching community.

My parents still live there.

It is indeed a mess.

@#78 ... Look, say what you will, there is an emergency at the border. Plain and simple, we are being invaded by other countries. ...

If that is truly the case, then why didn't fmr Pres Trump solve the "emergency" in June 2018?

Back then, Stephen Miller worked with the Republican Congress to create a bill that was in line with fmr Pres trump's Four Pillars mantra.

Yet, in spite of fmr Pres Trump's own aide on immigration, Stephen Miller, working with Congress to get the bill that fmr Pres Trump wanted, the Four Pillars, fmr Pres Trump indicated he would not sign the bill.

Why?

Could fmr Pres Trump have wanted to keep immigration as a political issue, so we can be where we are now on this topic?

And your comment is just continuing the politics?

Why didn't fmr Pres Trump want to enact the bill that Stephen Miller got Congress to agree to?

Trump just said he "certainly wouldn't sign" an immigration bill his White House helped write (2018)
www.vox.com

...Trump might have torpedoed a bill that even immigration hardliners in his administration like Stephen Miller were trying to pass....

Why?

"Look, say what you will, there is an emergency at the border. Plain and simple, we are being invaded by other countries. "

Has been for quite a while now.

Are you sick of the partisan infighting and lack of compromise yet?

It's Congress's job to make immigration laws that work. And they aren't even debating it much less doing anything about it.

Hey. I have an idea!

Let's build a big beautiful wall and pretend the world and all it's problems that created all these refugees, asylum seekers and economic immigrants don't exist!

Then we don't even have to talk about it anymore!

It's true! It's true! The Dems have made it clear.
The climate must be perfect all the year.

A law was made a distant moon ago here:
July and August cannot be too hot.
And there's a legal limit to the snow here
Because Kamala!
The winter is forbidden till December
And exits March the second on the dot.
By order, summer lingers through September
Because Kamala.
Kamala! Kamala!
I know it sounds a bit bizarre,
Because Kamala, Kamala
That's how conditions are.
The rain may never fall till after sundown.
By eight, the migrants must disappear.
In short, there's simply not
A more congenial spot
For happily-ever-aftering than here
Because Kamala!

Nothing says "our values" like dropping children off without shoes in 18 degree weather without anyone to meet or care for them. Awesome job, Republicans! You truly know how to make it clear how much you should be valued!

You truly are a privileged person with no ability to comprehend what these people have and are going through. That's actually hopeful to me. It means (possibly) that if you can grasp the sheer horror of where they lived and came from, of all they lost along the way - that maybe, just maybe - you can find some compassion for them and understand why they risked their very lives to get here.

#97 | Posted by YAV at 2022-12-28 11:27 AM | Reply

If they arrived in the USA without shoes, they must have walked hundreds of miles without them. If they had shoes at the border but none at Kamala's palace, someone must have taken them. Or your shoeless refugee comment is a lie.

Here. Just in case you want to actually know what's happening:
www.wola.org
www.theborderchronicle.com
www.theguardian.com

The Border Patrol routinely takes everything away from people seeking asylum. The only things you may bring (if you are fortunate, that is) are those things that fit in a plastic bad DHS might give you. If anything you have on is "moldy" or deemed a risk in some way (health) it must be left behind.

As a result shoes are being left behind all too often, and people rely on doubling up pairs of socks to get by.
