Richard Fausset writes about a heavily armed in an Atlanta Publix just two days after a Colorado grocery store shooting left 10 dead. The Atlanta man was arrested but in a state with permissive gun laws authorities struggled with what to charge the man with.

This knob got what he was looking for with his idiotic stunt: he got people to pay attention to him, he got to express his misunderstanding of the Second Amendment, and he got to express his half-baked theory about freedom. He is lucky he didn't get shot by someone else. His mental state should be tested and he should be treated like Barney Fife-a gun but no ammunition ...

On private property you have to call the police and have them trespassed if they refuse to leave. Trespassing with a firearm is a felony (at least in Texas) that gets your guns took.

The rights of the vulnerable end where the rights of the armed begin.

More rational to shoot him while you can rather than see what he wants to do next.

That's the funny thing about guns: If I shoot you first, you are dead no matter how many guns you have.

Do you understand that it's irrational for people like this to risk death by being armed?

Okay, go try that lol.

There's a reason these cosplayers don't get shot. It's not for want of people with guns to shoot back with.

#15 | Posted by sitzkrieg at 2023-01-02 02:33 PM | Reply

Shoot back lol. Shoot first. That's the difference really. If the guy doesn't walk in, point at everybody and start shooting, probably a cosplayer and you shouldn't run up and shoot him in the back of the head.

Maybe you could just pull a "Zimmerman" and follow him around until he gets twitchy and then bust a cap on him.

Why is this country so STUPID? The states pass laws that the Supreme Court makes unconstitutional. So the states have to allow this kind of lunancy, even though they don't want to.

Meanwhile abortion is allowed in some states but not others?

Why can't some states outlaw guns? They used to? It was legal to put heavy restrictions on gun ownership.

Now the guns have more rights than people. What changed?

Why did the SCOTUS find new gun rights nobody ever had before?

What is this colossal stupidity justified by?

The constitution is the same so what's driving this constant gun loving approach?

How is it made Law?

It's kind of like allowing people to take a loaded firearm into the zoo.

There are plenty of security measures in place you have no need of a gun in either and if you insist on taking one there you're the threat.

They better stop allowing guns in their store. After this weather it's legal on the outside or not.

Pay attention to the very similar Houston case, jury found the person guilty for a very similar misdemeanor.

Concluding paragraph.

"What is the definition of reckless conduct?" Brant said. "Carrying weapons? In a state that requires no permit? And no license? I mean, help me understand, what's the reckless conduct?" This article originally appeared in The New York Times.
A Harris County jury found it so it's somewhere but that's just one case. The prosecutor summed the practical dilemma; "How long does it take to go from in a manner calculated to alarm' to deadly conduct?" said Beedle, who helped handle the Herrera case. "A millisecond, right?"

Charming. Homeless guy, no family or friends, no car. All he seems to own are 4 handguns, an AR-15, a shotgun, and a bunch of ammo.
