Dang...guess Liberals can't like Canada anymore. I recall someone in America...a previous POTUS actually from a few years ago...who began this rhetoric and Liberals everywhere started claiming racism and xenophobia.

Awww, Dems just can't make up their mind anymore. It's almost as if their entire platform is only about doing the opposite of whatever the other party wants, just like Reps. Unfortunately, since DR kids are incapable of being objective, they will just vilify me and call me names instead of trying to learn how they can make their party better. It's just much easier to demonize the other side instead of actually being better people.

I like Canada and I like what Canada is doing.

Hmmm. There could be a negative impact on the condo market in Vancouver, but that's not for me to worry about.

In my work in real estate finance I tread very carefully when the borrower is a foreign national and always assume that in the event of a problem situation that all I will have is the loan collateral to support my loan--the borrower will never appear on this shore and it will be too expensive to chase them...

I guess HUMPER is expressing more butt hurt about Trumptydumped losing.

The reason Canada is doing that is to keep foreign investors out of the market driving up the the cost to purchase orrent on homes they don't give a crap about.

Nothing like fomenting class division.

It's the red states seeking rent subsidies too... putting it into some stranger's pocket. Money for nothing.

Looks like BumTake is still getting paid by the word for his troll posts.

Newsflash, our resident mostly-non-insane conservative, BoAZ, agrees with many of the liberals here.

Don't worry Bukktake, I'm sure you can find something other Poohty to stir up for your kopeks.

Are you talking about the cult leader whose word is literally worthless and the only thing he actually fought for was tax cuts for the rich?

"Can we now ban Canadians from buying land here in the US?"

Is that a punitive request?

Their law only applies to people buying residential properties as investments. Not only should we do that, we should expand it to domestic investors too.

"Not only should we do that, we should expand it to domestic investors too."

Probably should, but will never happen. Disallowing investment properties would crash the housing market because millions of homes will suddenly become available for purchase. Would be great for people with more modest means for whom home ownership was probably never possible, but for folks who already own a home it wouldn't be so good.
