Rep. Ryan Zinke (R-MT), a newly elected representative from Montana, celebrated his second day in Congress with a lengthy rant about the American "Deep State" and the endangered "American cowboy."

Zinke's another one of these wannabe drugstore cowboys you find all over the West who latch onto an image in an attempt to legitimize themselves. Most are most certainly not cowboys, and aren't really horse riders; horse's asses more like. That's the outfit Zinke rides with.

Drugstore Cowboy
They call me a Drugstore Cowboy
Drugstore Cowboy
That's the name they gave me

I'm a Drugstore Cowboy
I hang outside the drugstore
Passing time on the sidewalk out front
Why can't I just get a life?

"Drugstore Cowboy" by Diesel

Sounds about right. Head em up and move em out.

First, what is it about cowboys that would inspire anyone in the deep state to expend any effort to eliminate them? Now if it was about reducing the number of billionaires, I could see the deep state expending the effort but for cowboys? Is the a radical deep state Vegan faction that I am not aware of?

Oh I see, it has nothing to do with cowboys and everything to do with yet another ethically challenged former Trump official. Cause you know anyone investigating conservatives behaving badly is the deep state and BAD. ;P

If you believe this kind of nonsense then you should voluntarily choose to never get involved in the political process, your just a tool in the hands of the unscrupulous.

The GOP is trying to wipe the American cowboy via climate change. Cattle are thirsty and starving. They are taking them to slaughter younger and younger because the environment is no longer providing the resources required to raise them to their full adult size.

Nice hat. Totally worthless though for working in.

Try wearing that in the 50-90 mph winds we are having right now in California. That hat would be long gone if he didn't strap it down.

He was Secretary of the Interior. He famously demanded that the official flag of the Secretary of the Interior be flown over the building when he was present.

Imagine belonging to a party that idolizes COWBOYS. Uneducated dirt kickers who chase dumb animals around as a career.

Go visit texas and count the number of white guys you see literally PLAYING DRESS UP as cowboys in fancy hats and high heeled boots. It's hilarious. Most of them would break a horse's back if they could even get up there.

I'm not sure what the heck he means by 'Wipe Out the American Cowboy'. Except perhaps for calls from the left to significantly reduce cattle ranching, as it is proven to have a sizable effect on the environment and climate change in general. And is hugely wasteful of other resources. Most specifically water and natural grasslands. WE DO NOT NEED BEEF. But if we must eat such things, let's turn these lands back to their natural state, where they were populated by millions of native bison. Then let's eat that in a sustainable manner instead.

This here...

'remove public access to our lands and turn Montana into a national park'

...is simply political doublespeak. How could we do both at the same time? But Mr. Zinke has already proven the Republican desire to privatize and exploit as much public land as possible.

If Mr. Zinke and cattle are all that a State like Montana can produce, I'd be fully in favor of turning the entire State into an environmental preserve.

1.) That's the most homosexual hat I've ever seen. He needs to fire the aide who provided him with it.

2.) When the Congressman laments the "endangered cowboy", I suspect he's talking about the push by certain radical environmental groups to eliminate grazing (and many other activities) on public lands.

3.) Montana, like most western states, has a lot of public land administered by agencies such as BLM, USFS, BIA, etc. For better or worse, that means there is some public input into how those lands are managed. In an ideal society where people have a rudimentary understanding of ecology and agricultural practices, this wouldn't normally be a problem. Unfortunately, the sort of incandescent ignorance and abject stupidity which creates posts like #10 above also gets a seat at the table.

Well, Dems are already on record on multiple occasions saying they don't feel rural votes should matter as much as urban votes. So, it only stands to reason and sound logic that one would conclude that cowboys, a demographic largely attributed to rural areas, would feel the impact of the Democrat mantra of trying to marginalize them.

There isn't any hate or anything in that statement. It is supported by easy facts you can research. If it's so bad, then start getting your own party to marginalize rural people. Very simple.

" Republicans always electing the most reprehensible pieces of ---- they possibly can?" Because they prefer anger of ideas. Cowboy costumes over ideas. Religion over ideas. Knowledge and governance for all are something they fear. They want to use the gov. to attack minorities.

Urbanite yuppies wear cowboy boots because they watched Yellowstone.

Actual cowpunchers wear boots because the kinds of chicks they hand out with aren't allowed to have shoelaces.

It ain't the same thing.

"Well, Dems are already on record on multiple occasions saying they don't feel rural votes should matter as much as urban votes."-HUMMERBOYTAKESITALL

No dem ever said that HUMMERBOY. What we do say is that Montana with a population of about 1 million should not have as much representation as a state like California with over 38 million with an equal number of reps in congress. The electoral college thingy is BS as well carried over from a time when black folks were worth 3/5ths of a white man. You know when congress decided to let the South continue to have their slaves as long as they were counted only as a partial man(human being) and gave the rural states a perk with this electrical college BS tainted system that favors the lightly populated states over the more populated states so they would not quit the union.

So, according to this guy (and most Republicans)
the American Cowboy can legally do pretty much
what they want, when they want, where they want regardless of what the government says.

Yep. That's pretty much is the difference between Rethugs and the rest of society. One side has
respect for the rule of law, and the sovereignty
of the Federal Government, and the other is an
anarchist group of spoiled Karens and Snowflakes that want to make up their own rules and tear
the rest down.
