From the cited article...
... Florida has blocked the College Board from testing a pilot Advanced Placement African American Studies (APAAS) curriculum in the state under Governor Ron DeSantis' "Stop WOKE" Act. According to a letter obtained by National Review, Florida's Department of Education's Office of Articulation said the curriculum "is inexplicably contrary to Florida law and significantly lacks educational value." The pilot course, which has been tested at 60 schools across the United States, aims to expand the advanced coursework offered by the College Board into the study of the African diaspora in the U.S. The course has run afoul of DeSantis' widespread ban on teaching "critical race theory" (CRT) in K-12 classrooms. CRT is an analytical framework that seeks to dissect the manner in which racism has shaped American legal theory and institutions. The concept has been co-opted in recent years by right-wing reactionaries to fearmonger about any and all discussions of race and discrimination. ...

DeSantis is just proving that the whole basis of CRT and that CRT is true.
That whites have been suppressing blacks and denying black history forever which is why blacks are still under represented and being disadvantaged in America even today 60 years after the civil rights act of 1964 which brought the era of Jim Crow to an end.

"When are White Republicans going to fix their Racism problem?"
zsmen white peopje stop fesring peoplr of color but because of demographics that wpn't happen for a very long time. The Southern Strategy is just as effective today ss it was in 1968; white resentment about the loss of ehite provilege is stull real. Desantis figured that out and will try to use it to become President. He is depending on racism for his polititcal ambition. He's not stupid but he is completely cynical and calculating.

As a good Republican, shouldn't he have eliminated the Dept. of Education? Why do all the Right-wingers in Florida want the government telling them how to raise their kids.

I just had a brilliant idea now that I'm officially a Florida resident. I'm going to register Republican and start going to party meetings and espousing real traditional values and see how they respond.
"Why would I vote for a woman (Republican) when the Bible tells us they are clearly inferior?" "I don't agree with CRT at all, but do you think I want the government telling me what my kids can read or not." "Divorce is clearly a sin, why is it legal?"
Stuff like that.

What about it do you disagree with?

There are several demographic trends happening in Florida. Unvaccinated people continue to get sick and die. Old people, very vulnerable to COVID, and having NO money, are the leading immigrants to Florida. Educated people are likely the leading emigrants. These facts portend Florida as a vector for inbred mutants.

Yes he does. He just knows that acknowledging it for what it is works against their goals. For now at least.

I read about this yesterday. The AP committee has mostly kept this under wraps. A writer at NRO claimed to have seen it and based on what he saw Florida is making the right call.
Hagbard Celine undoubtedly hangs on every word ever written by Ibram X Kendi.

If you are referring to the incoming Cubans and Venezuelans I can tell you for a fact that they will vote republican as anything with the word 'Socialism' on it will send them into anger fits. How do I know? Most of my neighbors in Santiago Chile are Venezuelans and the poor and the educated alike vote right wing. I do not necessarily think that just because new immigrants are brown they will vote democrat.

So, DeSantan wishes to stop cancel woke culture by 'cancelling' something(a class) that might be taught at a State University? And, this turd polisher wishes to be POTUS? I think he and that orange child raping ex POTUS should hold their primary in a pig pen and the lot of them get down in dirty in the mud and muck to decide who can get more filthy in their scripted graft laden run for the office of POTUS. They are all pigs and that is where they belong.

Wildman, Emigrants can be any race or former nationality, and most likely fed up with the collapse of public education, stand your ground, and jokes involving "Florida Man." You seem to have completely misunderstood the intent and meaning of my post. Thank you for playing.

OK. I'll say it differently. When things that have nothing to do with race get labeled "racist" the word becomes so diluted that it loses meaning.
