SE Cupp: If the GOP is a rotting fish, Donald Trump certainly is the head. But another old adage is just as instructive, maybe even more so now that Trump is no longer president (for now): One rotten apple can spoil the bunch.

The GOP was obviously rotten and infected by termites before Trump got to it. Now its garbage is spewed all over the street. As long as Republicans place money, power, and revenge over country (as they do) things won't change. These monsters are getting enormous personal advantages from hurting people.

In regards to Santos, he's likely mentally ill. That does not prevent him from being a Russian asset, which increasingly it seems that he is. Apparently, the Republican taste for conspiracies never extends to Russia. I wonder why?

the GOP has cost itself with abortion and other issues but the needle hasn't moved at all over Russia.

AU posted some interesting data on voters staying left as they age.....again, I'm not completely convinced of that but it's a pretty good argument regardless.

But it has nothing to do with tying the GOP to Russia. That's a waste of time.

SE Cup reminds me that Trump ruined organized conservatism in America. He tainted every conservative person and group that thought he was one of them or could be made into one of them.

Conservatives talked about how it didn't matter what Trump's personal life was like he would do what conservatives wanted him to do when he was in the white house.

Was it worth it to them? Getting Supreme Court Justices that would let States decide on abortion matters. That was the only thing they accomplished that they wanted. Was all the damage Trump caused worth it? Because in the long run his presidency will cost them everything.
