Democrats pushed the boundaries of congressional power in their drives to investigate Donald Trump. Now Republicans who blasted that behavior are openly wondering whether to emulate it.

These jokes of investigations will impress the hell of the jokes in the Republican base.

... Democrats pushed the boundaries of congressional power in their drives to investigate Donald Trump. ...

The pushing of boundaries was warranted because fmr Pres Trump's actions in many areas were unprecedented in his quest to overturn the Constitution.

Now the Republicans appear to want to seek revenge because the Democrats were trying to save the Constitution, further showing how the Republicans are loyal to fmr Pres Trump and not the Constitution.

Attaboy USA comrades! What an Administration! Biden supports the Ukraine and alienates half the world as the USA economy falters amidst a flood of immigrants!

You gotta love hearing republicans whine about the "weaponization of the federal government" when that is exactly what they elected and supported Trumpy to do.

To weaponize the federal government and weld that power to push through their hateful agendas (like overturning Roe v Wade) and crush and humiliate their perceived enemies like immigrants and those deviant same Sexers and, of course, them Libs.

Democrats impeached Trumpy twice because he earned those impeachments with his unprecedented criminal negligence and immoral actions.

If Biden has done anything half as bad as inciting a violent insurrection against his own government in order to just hold on to power then I say go ahead and impeach him. Because he will deserve it.

As Trumpy did twice.

@#6 ... You gotta love hearing republicans whine about the "weaponization of the federal government" when that is exactly what they elected and supported Trumpy to do. ...

Yup.

The "weaponization of the federal government" assertion is merely the Republicans projecting, again, what they want to do, and tried to do under fmr Pres Trump.

Now the Republicans seem to want revenge.

Not because the Democrats were wrong in what they did, but because the Democrats (after asking for help from the Republicans) wanted to hold those accountable who actually wanted to weaponize the federal government.

Just refuse to testify or handle over documents.

Republicans better not whine since they were okay with Trump and Co doing it.

I want republicans to investigate biden and democrats. Just like they did with hillary. Embarassed themselves and came up with nothing.

Investigations aren't as threatening to the party that's not entirely made up of criminals and traitors.

Meanwhile republicans found a bigger liar than trump and are putting him on congressional committees with american lives in his hands.

That's actually what they should do.

Then maybe repubs would sign up for some legislation that actually forces people to testify and delivers consequences if they dont. That bill would hurt repubs way more than dems.

Gonna love seeing you twist yourself into a pretzel now that the story of Mike Pence having classified documents stored in his home has emerged too.

Yes joke all you want. Trump did some insane things. But at least I could sleep at night knowing that his cozy relationships with Putin and Kim Jong-Un made this a safer world. Now the world from Syria to North Korea has sided with Russia and turned against the USA.

5 O Clock Charlie? If that's a MASH reference we never even saw the pilot much less heard anything he had to say.

@#22 ... 5 O Clock Charlie? ...

There's an alias that shows up here a lot around lunchtime, I forget the name of the alias. But it posts all manner of comments, usually filled with "what-about-isms" and "both-sides -do-it-isms." It posts really wacky stuff, then disappears until the next day.

I call it 5 o'clock Charlie because of its regular time of visits and similarity to the behavior of the pilot in the M*A*S*H show.

#23 I do give you credit for a quality MASH reference. That pilot was only a small part of a handful of episodes.

"You know, we realized the best way for our players to stop getting injured was to just lay down in the fetal position on every play and let the opponent run down the field and score"

Yes things are always more stable when evil has total control.

It's when evil has to start fighting for dominance that things get rocky.

"You know, we realized our players stopped getting injured when they just rolled over on every play and let the opponent run down the field and score"

Trump wanted to preemptively nuke North Korea and blame it on another country within his first week as POTUS, you schmuck.

Stay ignorant, it suits you.
