A longitudinal study published in the journal Child Abuse & Neglect presents compelling evidence that spanking is detrimental to children's social development. Children who were exposed to spanking had higher externalizing behavior, lower self-control, and lower interpersonal skills compared to children who had never been spanked.

Some parents use spanking as a form of punishment with the goal of correcting or controlling their child's behavior. But many researchers have theorized that spanking is harmful for children's development, suggesting that it models aggressive behavior, undermines parent-child attachment, and impairs children's self-regulation skills. Research evidence has largely supported the harmful effects of spanking, showing that spanking damages children's social competence and social skills.

The overwhelming discipline, and respect exhibited by the recent generations that grew up without spanking is a great example of how great it works out.

You have empirical evidence that would support your hypothesis and undermine the conclusions of this study?

IMO, spanking is for the lazy parents. It takes time and energy to communicate with children, especially when they're not in receptive moods. Turning to violence is not the answer for adults, but parents choose violence as an answer for their misbehaving children? Not entirely logical, IMO.

Ya, you're all correct. Current younger generations obviously show a complete understanding that poor actions might carry ramifications...

Let's continue with the completely coddle kids experiment...it's working so well for us.

yes teaching children with proper discipline is EXACTLY the same as hitting women. Truly, you are one of the great thinkers of our time.

"proper discipline"

Thankfully you can't procreate.

The study doesn't help their cause.

It would make complete sense that a child getting spanked alot would have social skills issues, that's why the child's being spanked in the first place. They certainly don't seem to be learning their lesson, ergo more spanking.

This is the intelligent response I expect from Snoofy when he/she/they have lost the argument.

People present an idea about why it's not a good thing to avoid disciplining children.

Next Snoofy will blame his/she/they parents for having to mine bitcoin to pay for his predilection to pornhub, all while living in his mothers basement.

There was an argument?

"People present an idea about why it's not a good thing to avoid disciplining children."

Disciplining children, violence's against children.
Same thing, right?

It surely happened to you. So you think it's normal.
You hit your kids , so you think it's okay.

Can we at least agree on those facts, or does your pride make this conversation impossible?

The beatings will continue until morale improves.
This is pretty much how conservatives respond to every situation that doesn't go their way:
With violence.

The use of force to achieve compliance is right as rain for you guys.
It's how you understand the world.

It explains how, for example, Republicans say people were "forced" to take the vaccine.

When in fact the only tool used to achieve compliance was economic sanctions.

They imagine themselves a victim of how they would achieve compliance, and that way is always force.

I don't know anything about KWRX25's world but I was spanked as a child.

Obviously not enough, I guess.
