Is this the reason why I have to pay $10 a month on my cable bill for ESPN, when I have little concern about BOLD HEADLINES about sports?

Jus' askin'

Really, why do I have to subsidize the sports-corporation welfare?

There is so much commentary on this most august site about welfare, but little of that conversation seems to be about the forced corporate welfare of corporate sports.

Why?

@#9 ... News flash trolls: your country has violent contact Sports as well don't pretend like you don't...

For starters, I object to the "trolls" appellation of your comment. It seems to be little more than an attempt to side step the discussion raised.

And that discussion is... why should I have to pay $10 per month on my cable bill to support the corporate sports welfare?

Yer up.

@#10 ... Yer up....

Yeah, it is not surprising that the sports fans shrivel away from trying to justify the corporate welfare given to ESPN and corporate sports in general.

They seem to love the corporate welfare thrown in their direction, and try to trivialize the welfare aspect of it.

George Santos was the winning QB and MVP of both of these games.

He could say so right now, if he hasn't already.

One side would say "meh...", and the other side would feign outrage and know that it just means their side can lie harder next time.

Yer up.

The sports lovers resent paying for history and discovery channel

The MAGA's resent paying for CNN and on and on.

I don't have a dog in this fight as I have never paid a cable bill in my life.

you don't have to. you choose to.

there are plenty of other options in most areas.

QB duel is prime choice. They're both game changers.

NFL games are typically available on terrestrial broadcast TV.

Last time I looked there are streaming options aplenty if you don't want cable.

The KC-Bengals game was one of the best I've seen in quite awhile.

After Joseph Ossai's out-of-bounds hit on Patrick Mahomes that gave KC the yardage for the game winning FG, I wondered if Ossai's teammate was actually telling him, "look, you're gonna have to catch an Uber and get your own flight home, bro" rather than consoling him :-)

I wonder if the 49ers will go with 5 quarterbacks next year.
