US Secures Deal on Bases to Complete Arc Around China

The US has secured access to four additional military bases in the Philippines - a key bit of real estate which would offer a front seat to monitor the Chinese in the South China Sea and around Taiwan.

Curious observation:

On the face of it this would appear to be 'good news' and a significant accomplishment of the current administration. However, multitudes of the GOP are publicly lambasting the President for not authorizing the shooting done of a wayward balloon that seems to have been launched from China thousands of miles away. Given whatever "spy capability" this balloon is ASSUMED to have, it should be obvious that China's satellites (I hear they have a space program /sarc) have far surpassed the capability of this balloon. It would have been supreme irony if any US citizens were injured/killed due to the shooting down of this balloon. Just another reminder of how politically "de-volved" the GOP has become.

Hasn't the whole encircle your adversaries thing kind of been shown to be counterproductive and a tripwire for shooting war? Or is shooting war with China what the MIC wants?

They already provoked one war and found fools to fight it for them.

Who will the proxies be when the war with China kicks off?

If we have to use our own people I don't see a good outcome.

Americans have no stomach for actual causalities of our own.

Especially if they are heavy.

We prefer to find dumbasses to fight for us.

Hey Twinpac! What's shaken? Biden has sure put the world in jeopardy over a little bit of land I care nothing about -- Donbas, Luhansk, and Crimea. Yeah! That matters more than our miserable lives in the USA. I's like to see them do something about the word "comrade". I think it means "friend". Is that bad? Or should I use another popular term in Russia -- Like "Followers of the Way". Or how about "lefties"? By the way, half of the world is now on my side. Syria, Belarus, Russia, China, Iran, North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela, Palestine (what's left of it thanks to Capitalist USA money), Yemen, etc. Russia is set to invade Ukraine with close to 500,000 troops. They'll soon see Russian steel throughout Ukraine.
