"At least three House Republicans this week began wearing pins in the shape of an assault weapon on their clothing. U.S. Rep. George Santos (R-NY)"

Santos was an Olympic marksman.

How about Democrats start wearing pins with photos of Ashley Babbitt's body?

And no more American flag pin?

According to Republicans when Obama was a candidate, that means they are traitors and un-American.

Repugs love what assault weapons can do to a classroom full of first graders.

Ah, so... the Trumper Circus is in charge of the House.

Here's Matt Gaetz's faux patriot stunt on the House Floor backfiring fabulously:

The Bush doctrine declared that even if there's only a 1% chance that someone is going to attack you, you have every right to attack them first.

This looks as though the pins might be a threat indicator. Id say it's at least a 2% chance.

Just saying...

You're suggesting murder, and applauding the idea.

Have a nice banishment!

"You can't make this s**t up": House Republicans wear "tone deaf" assault rifle pins amid shootings
www.salon.com

...Several House Republicans this week began wearing pins in the shape of an assault rifle on their clothing during committee meetings and on the House floor, despite the fact that there have already been more than 55 mass shootings in the country in 2023.

Reps. George Santos, R-N.Y., and Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., were captured on camera wearing the pins on Capitol Hill.

"Where are these assault weapon pins coming from? Who is passing these out?" asked Rep. Jimmy Gomez, D-Calif., who was the first to share images of Santos and Luna wearing the pins on Twitter. ...

But why? ...

Why On Earth Are Some MAGA Republicans Wearing AR-15 Pins?
talkingpointsmemo.com

..."The pin is about sponsoring a gun bill and has nothing to do with whatever blueanon conspiracy theories are being floated on Capitol Hill," Rep. Luna told TPM through her spokesperson Edie Heipel.

Per a quick Google search, apparently "blueanon," which is a play on the name QAnon, is a term coined by MAGA Republicans to go after people they think are pushing "left-wing conspiracy theories."

Now that that's cleared up " what gun bill is Luna talking about?

The gun bill in question appears to be Rep. Andrew Clyde's (R-GA) Stop Harassing Owners of Rifles Today (SHORT) Act, which was reintroduced on Tuesday. The SHORT act is aimed at preventing a new Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives' (ATF) rule from taking effect. The rule would recategorize some firearms with stabilizing braces, requiring them to be registered and subject to taxes.

Luna's spokesperson did not respond to a follow-up question asking for more information about the conspiracy theories that, per her statement, were "being floated on Capitol Hill."...

"Republicans wear "tone deaf" assault rifle pins amid shootings"

Not tone deaf.

The tone is very intentional.

The shootings will continue, and the GOP will continue to champion gun violence with their lapel pins.

All these right wing fascists start singing another tune when somebody they love is shot down with a weapon. Those like "Or demtard tyrants, it's too bad nobody in Michigan or California waxed the lockdown fascists, they would be heros #14 | POSTED BY THEBULL" are just too damn stupid and selfish to see the truth in this.

"Apparently I've been triggering some of my Democrat colleagues ..."

That's what this Reality TV House of "Representatives" is all about; stirring up the Base by razzing the other Party.

Both Parties ought to look around and see that the Plutocrats are intentionally polarizing the People in the only two camps, which is easy money... and cheap considering what little it costs to have laws written to their advantage.

Teddy Roosevelt, FDR, even Ike... and JFK and LBJ were adamant about this built-in inequality, as much as rwingers have been taught to deny it even exists as a built-in advantage for moneyed interests.

"President Dwight Eisenhower, Republican, uttered these words on November 8, 1954:

"Should any political party attempt to abolish social security, unemployment insurance and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in our political history.

There is a tiny splinter group, of course, that believes that you can do these things. Among them are a few Texas oil millionaires, and an occasional politician or businessman from other areas. Their number is negligible and they are stupid."

In addition to being a war hero, a decent fellow, a moderate Republican before they began to go extinct, President Eisenhower apparently was also quite the prophet. Little George W. Bush was about 9 years old at the time ..." more

www.snopes.com

The Roosevelts took action to at least somewhat level the Playing Field by breaking up monopolies and giving Americans a New Deal.

LBJ championed the Great Society.

ALL those efforts have now been reversed, as secret bribes of politicians have been made legal.

So those with big money win, no matter how much the time and money the Parties spend on putting a gun in every pot, or whatever other made-up "Issue" they've paid to have promoted in order to polarize the People into inaction on the only issues that really matter, like making voting American again and taking big money out of social and economic political policy decisions benefiting all the People, not just the special few.
