The Neo-Nazi Hunter Next Door
IRAQ WAR VETERAN Kris Goldsmith believes "patriot" and "anti-fascist" should be synonymous -- and he's turning that belief into action with the new Task Force Butler.

"For a country that won a World War against the Nazis, modern-day America has some very strange hangups about "anti-fascism" " as though being antifa were a bad thing."
Being antifa...that's a bad thing.
When I was a kid in Portland, we had Neo-Nazis and SHARPs all running around fighting each other. Truth be told, the SHARPs (read: Black Bloc/Antifa) were just as much -------- as the white supremacists.
Some people are just born broken. And they become extremists. All of the people Kyle Rittenhouse tangled with 25 August 2020 had extensive criminal records. They were left-wing extremists, but I think that's because it was the left that got to them first. Had they by chance had a run-in with right-wing extremists, they might have joined Rittenhouse, or maybe stormed the Capital building with team Trump a few months later.

Wouldn't the French and Italian Resistance have been anti=Fascists in their day? Just when did Fascism and Nazism become acceptable political viewpoints jn America? They absolutely are not to me. Antifa needs better PR but I support their basic mission.

Hey comrades! So what's wrong about being a Nazi? What's wrong about being a Communist? Is it against USA values? If I remember correctly, Communist Russia, China, and North Korea didn't start hostilities against the USA. World War II started when the Third Reich invaded Poland and then England declared war. Then the capitalists in the USA looked for Nazis and Communists under every rock and tree. It isn't as though being a Nazi or Communist means a blank check for declaring war on the USA. Russia never makes a big deal about it -- just the USA to make the workers in the USA fall in line to support USA rich capitalists, England, and Israel. At least this is the truth as most of the world sees it.

No. Had your great aunts and father been antifa, they would have sat the war out. Unless they chose to go to Russia and join their fellow communists on the eastern front.
Communists may have been a useful ally, but the US has never really wanted any part of left-wing extremism.
It's not the being against fascists that's the problem. It's that they use the cover of anti-fascism to promote their own, equally extreme agenda.
I despise fascists. But I also despise Antifa. I see them as being little different from each other.

You're literally following the National Socialist bible. Create an enemy. Dehumanize them. Take what you want from them.

Did you ever watch the Amazon Prime series "The Hunters?" The scene where they are describing how the Nazis went after the Jews sounds little different than Bernie Sanders arguments in why the US should go after high income earners.

"Were the Nazis Socialists?
Were the Nazis socialists? No, not in any meaningful way, and certainly not after 1934. But to address this canard fully, one must begin with the birth of the party.
There's a reason Niemiller started with "First they(the Nazis) came for the socialists"... because it was true, it was the facts, and everyone who read it back then knew it was true.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out"because I was not a socialist. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out"because I was not a trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out"because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me"and there was no one left to speak for me. - Martin Niemller

Comrades...let me open your eyes to some hard truths. It's not my idea. I learned this in Economics 101 at UWM about 30 years ago. Those were the good old days when I didn't have to worry about Biden blowing us all to hell. According to the economics professor, World War II was started in order to bring us out of the failed economy of the Great Depression. It had nothing to do with who was right and who was wrong. He also looked down on the MBA program I was part of saying many MBA graduates could not find jobs. And he was right. Problem is...it's hard to decide who to listen to. We are drowning in old fuddy-duddy ideas by people who don't read books.

I think we just found a significant source of your confusion.
Full socialism advocates for government control of business. Right wing fascism advocates for religious and corporate or autocratic control of government (crony-capitalism in more modern terms). American democratic socialists, and liberals in general (the left as you so vilify us), advocate for neither of those things. We simply want a relatively uncorrupted government that works to the benefit of "We The People". Meaning all of us. And not just those who can afford to purchase politicians.

That statement leaves out important information and invites arguments against it borne of ignorance. What is defined as "the government" in a fully Socialist society would very little resemble what people think "government" means, by and large.

"Full socialism advocates for government control of business."
That's not true.
Socialism is a system where the workers own the means of production. The clear examples where it has been imposed on a society (the best example come from Chile in the 1970s) show it to have been an abysmal failure. Which is why, in practice, those countries that called themselves socialist were not. The state 'owned' and operated the businesses on their behalf. I don't know that there is a term for a system where a government owned everything by design.
"Right wing fascism advocates for religious and corporate or autocratic control of government (crony-capitalism in more modern terms)."
That's not true either. The first fascist party was formed by Benito Mussolini as an offshoot of the Italian socialist party, who questioned why socialism must be an international movement (as directed by the Soviets and their supporters), rather than a nationalist movement. In fact the term 'fascist' comes from the symbol they used, the fasces. It is a bundle of sticks hold together. Symbolically, it stood for the strength of the whole (the state) being stronger than a collection of individuals alone. Fascism viewed the state as an extension of the people, and it was the role of government to serve the best interests of the state. And all organizations within a state existed at the pleasure of the government, provided that they contributed to the needs of the state. Business operated not so much as crony capitalists favored by politicianas, but rather as licensed businesses whose efforts contributed the state goals. Those organizations that did not contribute to the state would not be legally permitted to operate.
