Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

Eric Levitz, New York Magazine: Hostage taking is, traditionally, a means to an end. A criminal organization wants to earn fast cash, so it kidnaps the child of a business tycoon. Or a militant group wants some of its members released from prison, so it seizes a government building.

The GOP couldn't even agree on speaker of the house. They have no plan for running the country other than 'if facts and ethics support the idea then it must be bad.' They are criminal, terrorist organization, not a political party.

three House Republicans are so delusional and/or nihilistic that they have committed to opposing a debt-ceiling increase "under any circumstances." Which is to say: These lawmakers officially see forcing the United States into default as an end in itself.

Go team.

When this situation ends (1) with the GOP bowing to reality, or (2) an unprecedented series of events that will occur because the Biden Administration had to keep the US out of a ditch, none in the GOP will be able to identify the person or persons who came up with their failed plan. I guess it will just be another problem caused by Antifa/BLM/George Soros...

This is the clown show I expected it to be.

Congrats GOP...you built this.

The usual on-going disaster when they try to pull this. It's nothing but political theater because in the end they'll agree on a budget. What they will never recognize is that when they are in power, there is no such limit on spending. It's an event based on hypocrisy. Of course the repubs have no plan. That's been demonstrated over and over again in the past. Just look at the ACA when they were trying to kill it. You heard over and over they had a better plan, yet never did such a plan get exposed to the public despite the years of try to kill it.

When they were busy lowering taxes on the rich, they didn't need a plan to replace that money. Hence why there is such a huge gap between spending and income.

I do hope they actually do shut down the government. Why? Because every time it is done, they get big negative publicity that turns yet a few more against them.

Tax Cuts Pay For Themselves.
Just ask a Republican.

If 75 million people vote for the United States to go bankrupt, why shouldn't that happen?

Democracy in action -- through Republican inaction!

Obviously, it's because he's black.

We're already bankrupt, this show is about how fast we go down the drain.

" We're already bankrupt"

Oh good God, now along with Republican Math we have Republican English; The Humpty Dumpty Edition.

Don't look now, but the word bankrupt already has a meaning. And it's not the one you're using.

" We're already bankrupt, this show is about how fast we go down the drain."

Then why didn't you protest the Trump tax cuts?

Why would I? Government spending is not my problem. They can run up the debt to infinity for all I care, and that seems to be the plan by both sides since neither ever cut spending.

No platform, no plan, hemming and hawing over Mr. Person Woman Man Camera TV? That's not an outfit interested in governing. Governance is hard werk. These folk conform to the norm at the old Ringling Bros. Clown School, junior division.

" Government spending is not my problem."

It is if you're complaining about deficits and debt.

You are either a liar or a fool. Or both.

By finally being able to reduce the Trumpy Virus pandemic costs the deficit actually when down last year the deficit actually went down. Subtract the costs for repairing the criminal negligence of the trump administration and it would have gone down even further.

www.wsj.com

There are two ways to reduce the deficit. Cut spending or raise taxes.

So why not raise taxes especially on those who could afford it?

Don't you think that during a global pandemic that it would be more appropriate to raise taxes than cut spending during a global crisis (several global crises). Especially with all that cash we flushed through the system to try and keep it stable?

I guarantee that the Republicans "maga" trickle down theory will not work. Because their "trickle down" has never worked.

Look!

It's the Boomer Motto! "Not my Problem"

And that's why we're in this mess.

Blame it on moronic people not boomers. I'm a boomer and Republicans cause problems and then Democrats have to come in and fix what Republicans broke!
