Marjorie Taylor Greene Complains About Her $174,000 Congressional Salary
"Becoming a member of Congress has made my life miserable. I made a lot more money before I got here. I've lost money since I've gotten here," Greene, who once owned a gym, said. Newsweek could not independently verify her previous salary.

""Becoming a member of Congress has made my life miserable. I made a lot more money before I got here. I've lost money since I've gotten here," Greene, who once owned a gym, said. Newsweek could not independently verify her previous salary.
Greene also spoke of the time-consuming nature of being in Congress, noting her job takes up "too much" time.
"It's turned into practically year-round," she said. "And for those of us in the House of Representatives, we have to run for Congress every two years. So you're practically campaigning nearly the entire time that you're here serving"

Why did she sell her gym? Trump didn't have to sell his hotels.

She sounds like a usual "c-c-conservative."
Only does something expecting it to be easy money, then complains about how much work it is while refusing to do everyone a favor by walking away.
Meanwhile, their corrupt ass is probably raking it in illegally on the side.
And we all know how she loves to take it on the side.

She's dumb, lazy, not accustomed to working for a living, lacks judgment and common sense ... besides, showing up for werk (in Congress?!?) is sooooo haaaaaard. Eff off, Marge.

She severely overpaid and should be in prison for being the 1/6 bomber.

After the first time around, you knew the job requirements. You went for a second dose of it, so that's on you.
Most americans would be happy to get that kind of money as a salary. Yes, yes, having to live out of state where your job is, is a bit more expensive but you chose that, full well knowing. Like every other american who works somewhere they don't live, it's part of the package.
You always have the option of quitting or walking away.

She wants people to believe she made a sacrifice and that she was sooo successful prior to "serving" in congress.
But "serving" is the term for a reason.
She must have missed that part. She thinks it was going to a party where you get paid to attend.
Step aside and let someone else serve.

Remember last session how happy she was to be removed from the committees so she didn't have to waster her time doing work?

MTG hasn't yet figured out how to get rich while in office. Some offer up term limits as a solution to prevent congressmen (women) from staying in office to long. Another way is to prevent them from becoming rich after they get in office. Prevent them, their family members and staff from trading in individual stocks. Make the same rules against insider trading apply to them, their staff and family members as well.
Also, something has to be done about their PACs. Tighten up the rules on how PAC money can be used. Force PACs to payout a certain percentage of its assets each year for approved political activities; pretty much like what is "supposed" to be done for foundations.
Serving in congress shouldn't be a lifetime job.

MTG: Being In Congress Has Made My Life Miserable'
Marjorie Taylor Greene: "Becoming a member of Congress has made my life miserable. I made a lot more money before I got here. I've lost money since I've gotten here. It's not a life that I think is like something that I enjoy because I don't enjoy it."

You hear that Georgia? She thinks she's too good for the job you elected her too. She thinks in fact she's too good to be your representative. It was up to her you wouldn't have a representative.

When she realizes the job is supposed to be about SERVING the US citizens, she'll be in a better spot to handle any personal problems she has with the position.
Again, no one forced her to do this.

Just $174k per year?
Do they get a housing allowance or something as well?
"I'd vote for a pay raise, as long as she used the money for a face transplant."
So...not sure about congress, but military members do have access to taxpayer funded sex-change surgery.
I think she is a female. Maybe the taxpayers would pay for her to be a pretty female? IDK.

I wonder what kind of income mtg had before stepping down to the salary of a representative? Regardless, I am sure she was overpaid in any role she has played. And it is obvious she is into role playing, not governing for the wellbeing of the US and the people of Georgia.

$174K for what is basically a retirement gig. She needs to shut her ugly, missing link pudhole and get back to work spreading chlamydia at the local CrossFit gym. She's a stupid, treasonous trailer park whore.

There is an argument to be made for why congress' salaries should be increased, but she certainly didn't make it.
#32 | Posted by Hagbard_Celine at 2023-02-06 09:17 AM | Reply
Oh she hasn't figured out the game yet. The $174k is just your walking around money for serious fundraising. There's a reason buying congressional seats is so expensive.

I don't think their salaries should be increased but they should be given a housing and living allowance while serving in congress. Furthermore, their travel to and from their districts should also be covered.

Congressional pay should be linked to the Federal minimum wage. Congressional pay goes up 5%, Federal minimum wage goes up 5%.
And then these jobs should simply pay a multiple of the Federal minimum wage. Representative gets 10x. Senator gets 15x. And so on, across government.
This would of course have the ironic effect of Republicans pushing to lower their own pay in Congress. And could even give rise to a situation where Congress earns no pay, which would help make us even more aristocratic than we already are.
So Republicans should jump on this idea since it's a backdoor to what they really want. Repeal the minimum wage.

I guess she can quit congress as supposedly congressmen and women are there not for the money and the perks but to represent the people that voted to put them there. She is just trash anyways so she should quit and give back any money she made as she really has not done anything especially after not sitting on any committees because of her racist hick BS.

#35 Snoofy... I'd rather have their salaries linked to Social Security. Salary up 5%, SS up 5%...
unfortunately the GOP is trying to slash what little benefits Social Security still has, and push the minimum retirement age towards 70...but hey, idiots keep on voting for them...so there is that.
