Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Saturday, February 04, 2023

Upending decades of political tradition, members of the Democratic National Committee voted on Saturday to approve a sweeping overhaul of the Democratic primary process, a critical step in President Biden's effort to transform the way the party picks its presidential nominees. ... [A]mid forceful calls for a calendar that better reflects the racial diversity of the Democratic Party and the country -- and after Iowa's 2020 meltdown led to a major delay in results -- Democrats endorsed a proposal that would start the 2024 Democratic presidential primary circuit on Feb. 3 in South Carolina, the state that resuscitated Biden's once-flailing candidacy. It would be followed by New Hampshire and Nevada on Feb. 6, Georgia on Feb. 13 and then Michigan on Feb. 27.

This is a smart move. Iowa and New Hampshire aren't representative of the Democratic primary electorate. They're too small and too monochromatic.

I'm also tired of Iowa being catered to so heavily when it doesn't even vote for Democrats in general elections.

Goodbye, ethanol subsidies!

What is the ratio of black Democrats to everybody else in the South Carolina democratic primary?

South Carolina?

I guess they are being awarded for being the only state to vote for Biden during the 2020 primaries.

For Democrats, the primaries are all bad news until South Carolina. They should move up California and get it over with.

Wouldnt the smartest strategy be to start in a swing state and see who swing state voters prefer?

Not that I'd accuse dem leaders of being smart.

They don't give a rip about the average voter. It's corporate America that the Democratic elites answer to.

Says the Republican Karen...

Sorry, the GOP voting year after year to give tax breaks to the already rich pretty much solidifies them as the party of Corporate America. Not to mention them doing the bidding of corporate elites in trying to kill Social Security and the Social Safety Net.

Wrong again 'Laura' (cough Karen, cough Karen)

She's still bent that a lifelong "independent" didn't convince the DNC to throw the election. (Who votes for a Socialist??)

Oh puhlease. Don't insult my intelligence. Take Obama for example. He railed against Wall Street yet what the hell did he do once in the White House?? He surrounded himself with the same people that he railed against. Wall Street elite. Take Hillary for example. She was the spokesperson for corporate America. How many times did she speak for Goldman Sachs?? Everything was about corporate America with her. Take Biden. He told the billionaire class that nothing would fundamentally change with him at the helm. So please spare me your Republican Karen nonsense.
