I really am glad he survived.

Had he died the whole situation would have become fubar.

He got to live and we got to have a conservative VP who openly disavowed trump's insurrection which undoubtibly encouraged others like him to do the same.

I remember this incident from back in the day.

Mr Whittington went out of his way to apologize for happening to be in front of fmr VP Cheney's gun when the gun was fired.

Mr Whittington was most apologetic.

Cheney shooting victim says sorry - to Cheney (2006)
www.theguardian.com

...Harry Whittington, the Republican lawyer shot by Dick Cheney in a hunting accident in Texas last weekend, emerged from hospital yesterday and apologised to the vice-president for all the trouble the shooting had caused.

Mr Whittington, who suffered a minor heart attack when a shotgun pellet lodged near his heart, absolved Mr Cheney of any responsibility.

As he was discharged from hospital in Corpus Christi, he said: "We all assume certain risks in whatever we do, whatever activities we pursue. And regardless of how experienced, careful and dedicated we are, accidents do and will happen."

Mr Whittington, whose face was still bruised but who otherwise appeared healthy, said: "My family and I are deeply sorry for all that Vice-President Cheney and his family have had to go through this past week.

"We send our love and respect to them, as they deal with situations that are much more serious than what we've had to deal with this week."

He added: "We hope that he will continue to come to Texas and seek the relaxation that he deserves."...

He was almost as proud of shooting his lawyer in the face as he was of covering up Pat Tillman's death.

This reminded me of that story where Dick Cheney was photographed fishing, and in the reflection of his sunglasses, there appeared to be a naked woman taking the photo. Anybody remember that one? It just gave the air of a VP who DGAF.

" Anybody remember that one?"

I don't but I wish I did.

This is the guy who apologized to Dick Cheney for Dick Cheney blasting him in the face with a hunting rifle. Can't make this ---- up.

I liked when that story broke and it was press-released by a retired fish and game warden or something.

Since I brought it up, here's the sunglasses story (one of multiple sources).

From the looks of his daughter Liz, it appears he shot her in the face too!

Dick Cheney and George W Bush were directly responsible for an entirely unnecessary war in Iraq thaaused the deaths of one million Iraqis and thousands of American soldiers. Liz Cheney's recent efforts to defend denocracy does not absolve her father's responsibility for that entirely unnecessary war,
