DeSantis's ego is even more fragile than Trump's.

The Republicans Party is the home of weak, fragile men.

Also. It's disappointing Democrats aren't raising flags and objecting to the several violations of the 1st amendment.

All of the laws being passed by Florida Republicans are in direct violation of the 1st amendment.

I am curious tho......

What's the difference between someone who blogs on the internet to disseminate information vs a newspaper?

This is only a proposed bill, so the headline is ---------.....but this appears to be completely unconstitutional based on the presentation of information in the article.

So, it would appear that this law would almost certainly apply to Rcade and the DR, assuming Rcade gets income from it. If he pays any of the posters here, well, they would also have to register. Not sure how that would apply to non-FL residents.

Why are Florida Republicans so painfully ridiculous?

DeSantis has enabled them and lead them to blossom without fear of any repercussion. It's open season for crazy here. In addition to this bill there's the "Don't say gay" being extended to 12th grade. It's the bill that prohibits the use any pronoun other than the designated birth sex of a someone, and prohibits asking a person what they would prefer (for schools, students, employers, employees). And drag shows. Oh yeah. So much to choose from if you want to point out the authoritarianism and desire to legislate every aspect of your life.

Oh. And I forgot about banning the Democratic Party from the state of Florida. They're working hard on that and the reason is priceless.

But it's not just Florida. It's a GOPandemic. McCarthy's done with that lunatic MTG. Texas isn't too far behind, and Tennessee is on the cutting edge of lunacy. But yes, Florida does seem to be leading the way into the abyss...

@#3 ... What are these control freaks so afraid of? ...

"Control freaks" looks to me to be the correct term.

If you have to register with the state in order to blog about Gov DeSantis (et al), then it seems to follow that if Gov DeSantis does not like what you have written, the registration may be revoked. That effectively prevents you from writing about Gov DeSantis because he does not like what you wrote.

Similar to Gov DeSantis punishing the Disney Corp because Disney voiced support for something Gov DeSantis did not like.

The GOP is not even trying to hide its hatred of democracy and freedom anymore. Quite the opposite, the GOP has taken it to the megaphone....

Some of the most recent stuff being proposed by Florida legislators is alarming to say the least. Having said that there is a big difference between a single legislator proposing something stupid and the entire legislative body taking steps to pass any of these things.

So funny how when these authoritarians Trump or DeSantis try to out "Man" each other by floating these kind of ridiculous laws... this clown never got on the Floor and put this Cult Bait out there by himself

... so funny how rwingers here never seem to fail to fall for it.

You'd think they would have learned by now that the very wealthy backers of Donald Trump, and now moving to currently less soiled goods in a Dictator-quality Desantis... they are getting their money's worth by funding these Culture War memes and dividing people with those things that are quite minor compared to their raping of the economy and their take-over of the People's Gov with secret bribes they've made legal.

Don't fix that, and loosing your first amendment rights is next on their agenda.

Which is the Bottom Line... it's more important than you, so get over yourself.

DeSantis' trial balloons are preparing the county for his agenda when (if) he becomes president.

#1 ~ Red flags to the voting public . . .

But . . .

#2 ~ Music to the ears of the GOP who are eager to undermine every facet of America's Bill of Rights. DeSantis is out there, literally screaming "I'M YOUR MAN" to get the GOPs attention.

Now is the time to consider what America will be like if the survival of Democracy is forced to go underground.

See if you can picture that.

That's what I said . . . Ron DeSantis, a state governor, who is trying to set the trend for America's future in the hands of the GOP.

So far, the GOP is just sniffing round the edges of a DeSantis presidency. But he still has high hopes that Trump will self-destruct. He just wants to be waiting in the wings, ready to step in, when it happens. Plus, he's going to need a few billion dollars.
