Never Push a Slower Friend Down During Bear Attacks
"If you come across a bear, never push a slower friend down ... even if you feel the friendship has run its course," the service tweeted from its official account. Got that? If a bear attacks you out in the wild, don't try to feed your friend to it.

OK, the NPS doesn't think that this is a good idea, but what about the bear's take on this strategy? #BothSides

Guy I knew was fishing in Alaska with a buddy. A bear showed up, and against all advice they were off to the races. The guy tripped, fell, and watched his friend tearing off, followed by the bear. The bear ran over the prone fisherman's back in his pursuit of the wilderness racer. Both would be Daniel Boones survived. The guy who fell to the ground? He had rows of claw marks dug into his back, from the bear running over him while scrambling after his buddy.

Hey @DOC_Sarvis If I recall correctly, you are a fan of the BWCAW. Can you recommend a route/entry point?

Don't push them! Trip them, much more subtle.

A man was telling his grandson about the time he went hiking in the forest and encountered a bear. He started running but just as soon as the bear reached out to grab him, the bear slipped and fell. The man kept running and the bear resumed the chase. Again, just as soon as the bear reached out to grab him, the bear slipped again. This happened several more times and the bear soon gave up and the man survived. The grandson said, grandpa, if I were you, I would have shi..ed my pants. The man said, what do you think that bear was slipping on?
