As the US creeps ever closer to a devastating debt default, which would immediately spiral the country and likely the world into a financial crisis, Republicans aren't preparing to negotiate -- they're preparing emergency measures.

This is the group that was willing to destroy democracy.
They're DEFINITELY willing to destroy the economy, thinking they'll be able to blame biden.

They're completely predictable now, as they have been since trump arrived. All you have to do is ask - what is the worst things republicans could do? And that's what they'll do.
This WILL happen.

Our economy is still stronger that most the world.

The Trump Tax cuts for the extremely wealthy and the TrumpVirus shutting down the economy hurt us.

But, thanks to Biden and Democrats, we are recovering.

Unfortunately republicans governors would rather hurt their states rather than work with Biden.

It is painfully obviously Republicans hate the United States of America.

They want to run states as their own little fiefdoms.

I do worry about anyone who would want to force Bailey Jay, Natalie Mars, or Sarina Valentina to use the mens room. Or maybe make Buck Angel or Benjamin Melzer use the ladies room.

Yes those are all extreme examples but if you're going to just throw out a broad statement like that you are going to catch the extremes.

transwomen are men...and we all know that men can and do present threats to women. these pretend women are wreaking havoc in womens sports. there are prize monies, scholarships, endorsements that rightfully belong to real women.
it is not an issue that is going away until,I think, there's a separate trans category. I don't see any other way it can be considered fair.

gay people talking about this say they feel very lucky to have grown up when they did 50's-80's say that if they acted now like they did then, they'd be afraid they'd be thought to be transgender

IDK about that, my understanding is the young people are confused about their feelings, don't know the difference between trans and gay and are working it out.

Lets go with the idea that "gender" is a social construct. Are we creating more stress in these kids lives by telling a boy their a girl and visa versa? Perhaps let the hormones settle and let them see where they land before we start cutting them up with no point of return.

At What Age Is The Brain Fully Developed?
It is widely debated as to which age the brain is considered "fully mature" or developed. In the past, many experts believed that the brain may have been done developing in the mid to late teens. Then along came some evidence to suggest that development may last until at least age 20. These days, a consensus of neuroscientists agree that brain development likely persists until at least the mid-20s " possibly until the 30s.

bad syntax maybe...i was trying to relate what gay friends who grew up in the
50 to 80's era said, if they were children now and acted as they did then they think that that a supposition might have been made that they were trans and that then, options might have been offered/suggested that they would not have been able to fully understand leading to unforseen consequences because in fact they were just little gay kids

I came across your post expressing concerns about trans people, and I wanted to address some of the issues you raised. I understand that this is a sensitive and complex topic, but I hope to offer some perspective that might help bridge the gap between our viewpoints.

Firstly, I want to acknowledge that everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and opinions. However, it's important to recognize that trans people are a marginalized group who face significant discrimination and oppression in our society. It's therefore crucial to approach this topic with empathy and an open mind.

One of the concerns some like you have mentioned was around the idea of "transgender ideology" being forced upon people. It's important to understand that being trans is not a choice or an ideology; it's simply a part of someone's identity. Trans people are not trying to force others to adopt their beliefs, but rather seeking recognition and respect for who they are.

Another concern many others have mentioned was around the safety of women in spaces such as bathrooms and changing rooms. It's understandable to have concerns around safety, but it's important to note that there is no evidence to suggest that trans people are more likely to be predators or commit acts of violence than anyone else. In fact, trans people are more likely to be the victims of violence and harassment themselves.

Lastly, I want to emphasize that trans people deserve the same rights and freedoms as everyone else. They should be able to live their lives without fear of discrimination or violence, and have access to healthcare, employment, and other basic human rights. By supporting trans rights, we can create a more just and equitable society for all.0

I hope this response has provided some food for thought, and I'm happy to continue the conversation if you're interested.

Swallow it.

I understand they're worthy of sympathy
You say "who they are" but what I hear is "what they say they are"
I very much accept dysphoria but I don't believe you have an actual choice to decide if you are male or female and that you have the ability to change from one to the other
I don't think womens spaces should be compromised by a man. if they present as a woman and go in a stall I can't see as how that would be a problem. but I've talked about this to women and their fine with it..except if a person comes in their bathroom and hikes up his dress and whips out his penis to pee in the newly installed urinal..NO
And I can't see how any accommodation could be made in most womens sports. I don't see how you could ever make it fair for biological women.
when they let women in with the men in the service, they changed the physical conditioning rules. would you expect men's sports to make sure trans men could compete successfully? they surely couldn't based on their testosterone levels like transwomen want to claim. Like I said I sympathize.

We will definitely see a debt default this year, followed by a massive slash to social security benefits when we can't borrow money anymore.

The end result of this will be higher taxes for everyone because we will lose our magic ability to borrow unlimited money at the low rates, and will have to finally live within our means.

The only way to avoid higher taxes is to slash social security and military spending, which combined are > 2/3 of the federal budget.
