Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Wednesday, March 15, 2023

Ron DeSantis and Donald Trump have sided with Russia and have undercut the United States and Ukraine by supporting and spouting Russia's position regarding Ukraine. DeSantis and Trump sent a clear signal to Russia: Hold on until one of us is President and Ukraine is yours.

Ronnie, the white-booted dough-boy, in 2015 was a proponent of sending weapons to Ukraine.

- Hold on until one of us is President and Ukraine is yours.

Which was the Deal when Trump was Pres, but then he screwed up and lost, so Vlad had to invade on his own without the help of a traitor in the White House.

But hey, next time it'll be Poland, so there's that happy thought.

He knows that if he's anti ukraine, putin will put his troll army to work to help him win, just like he did for trump.

Maybe more Americans are not down with the meddling than you think.

I loathe DeSantis and Trump. I won't vote for either one.

Maybe there's a silent majority that don't want to be involved with Russian territorial disputes.

On this issue I agree with them.

Many others likely feel the same way. It's not popular to say so openly.

A big surprise could be coming in 2024.

Ukraine might get cut loose. They better plan for this if they have any sense at all.

Not to worry, comrade. Your dacha in Siberia is probably a few too many clicks away from a polling place anyway.

EFFETE'S #7 just called it a "territorial dispute." ~ LOL

He just outed himself. That's the DeSantis line. WHAT a sucker!

I used that line precisely because it was DeSantis's. It's accurate, even if he did say it.

Even a stopped clock is right twice a day. My point is that this position may have more traction than many people think, given how media and social norms discourage open discussion of any other policy but blind approval of all Ukrainian aid.

The Ukrainians better be aware of how fickle Americans are.

They wouldn't be the first to get screwed after thinking they wouldn't be.

I just hope they're ready for what's coming if American policy switches.

Maybe they should be more open to compromise and less intent on total victory that they can't achieve without massive assistance from outside.

- intent on total victory

You mean driving the invading murderers out of their country?

Sounds like a reasonable goal.

#11 | Posted by Corky at 2023-03-16 12:31 AM | Reply

Not if they can't do it. Then it's just a foolish prolongation of the carnage and destruction of infrastructure. Seeking peace when the price of ongoing war is too high is nothing to be ashamed of.

Most wars end by negotiations, not Total Victory.

Encouraging the Ukrainian government to push for unrealistic goals while inadequately supplying them to attain them is not helping the Ukrainians.

It's a cynical and depraved use of them as instruments of a bigger policy they aren't privy to.

A territorial dispute? Remarkable it's both a misnomer and a downplayer.

Time to end Russian birth tourism in Miami and arrest all Russian Nationals in the state.

Not that amazing as you'd think. While they can be similar in some ways, it's important to remember that they're not always the same thing.

A territorial dispute is when two or more groups disagree about who owns or controls a specific piece of land. The way people talk about this can be different depending on things like history, politics, and laws.

A minor incursion is when one country briefly enters another country's territory with its military. When people talk about this, they might focus on how long it lasted, how big it was, and how it affected everyone involved.

Even though the language used for both situations might be similar sometimes, they're not always the same thing. The way people talk about them depends on what's happening in each specific situation.

Dog whistle to keep the Russian money flowing...If Putin is able to get one of his guys into the White House a second time...he could invade another country or two knowing the American military would be led by a quisling.

Ah, but they are doing... your Hero Vlad is emptying Women's Prisons to get cannon fodder for the front lines... and Western Military Intel says he is mere weeks from being unable to sustain the attack.
