Controversial exiled Chinese billionaire Guo Wengui -- an associate of former Trump White House advisor Steve Bannon -- was arrested Wednesday in New York for allegedly orchestrating a complex $1 billion fraud scheme that duped online followers with promises of outsized investment returns.

Wengui has extensive ties to Trump's inner circle and played a central role in spreading lies about Hunter Biden's laptop:

In June 2021, Guo's two nonprofits hosted a private party in New York attended by Bannon, former Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani, former Trump national security advisor Michael Flynn, and the Trump ally and conspiracy theorist Mike Lindell, CEO of MyPillow.

In August 2020, federal authorities arrested Bannon on a mega-yacht belonging to Guo off the coast of Connecticut on charges related to siphoning off money for the "We Build the Wall" fundraising campaign. Months later, shortly before Trump left office, he pardoned Bannon in that case.

Last month, a lawyer for Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, sent Guo a letter demanding he retain any records related to Hunter Biden. The letter was sent two months after Mother Jones magazine detailed how Bannon, while working with Giuliani, had "arranged for Guo and his followers to spread salacious videos and pictures from Hunter Biden's laptop," which was obtained from a Delaware computer repair shop.

This was Trump's China Policy... which was much like his Russian Policy; funneling money to himself and inventing political drama in the media for his enemies.

It helps when your Base has irrationally suspended all disbelief in your evil ways.

Donald Trump became the Republican Presidential front-runner that summer, and Guo's instincts proved well suited to the emerging era; he had already joined Mar-a-Lago, Trump's club in Palm Beach, and he wasn't shy about praising his own business acumen ("I'm a genius at making money!"). He boasted of expensive tastes: handmade Louis Vuitton shoes, a rare variety of tea that he reportedly declared was worth a million dollars a kilo. Even before he was introduced to Steve Bannon, Trump's chief strategist, Bannon had heard enough about Guo to pronounce him "the Donald Trump of Beijing."

This is one way to hide the evidence: burn down your $32 million apartment. Guo Wengui's full-floor residence is currently on fire.

And yes, this is Miles Guo, aka Guo Wengui, aka Miles Kwok, aka Ho Wan Kwok " Steve Bannon's buddy who was arrested today on a $1bn fraud charge.

I feel about the NY FBI field office the way BR feels about DOJ: I don't trust them. What are they doing? Burning up evidence of Guo's connection to Trump or evidence of fraud with regard to Hunter Biden's laptop?:

FBI investigating fire at Upper East Side hotel where Chinese billionaire arrested

FBI agents were still inside Guo's apartment at the time the fire broke out, multiple law enforcement sources told ABC News. That's about six hours after Guo was arrested.

DR Conservatives are too busy accusing Biden of being owned by the Chinese on other threads to comment here on Team Trump LITERALLY being owned by the Chinese.

#7. Shouldn't we be more concerned about the current president than the former on this?

I know, I know. Crazy talk!

If we had something to be concerned about, sure. I know, I know. Crazy talk.

Cute though how you want to ignore how you were okay with Trump being owned by China.

This guy's history and intentions has been weird since coming into the political media spotlight. Also how does anyone who is an exiled businessman have "followers?"

Ignoring any political affiliations aspect, it'll be fascinating to learn more about wtf this guy's real story is.
