At least two dozen people--from Mar-a-Lago resort staff to members of Donald Trump's inner circle at the Florida estate--have been subpoenaed to testify to a federal grand jury that's investigating the former president's handling of classified documents, multiple sources familiar with the investigation told CNN.

Trump attorney ordered to testify in Mar-a-Lago documents probe

A federal judge ordered Trump attorney Evan Corcoran to testify before the grand jury assembled to review the mishandling of White House records at Mar-a-Lago, multiple outlets reported Friday.

In a sealed ruling from U.S. District Court Judge Beryl Howell, she found sufficient evidence that Corcoran's legal advice was given in furtherance of a crime, one of the few determinations that can compel an attorney to discuss communications that would otherwise be covered by attorney-client privilege.

The development is a significant win for special counsel Jack Smith and could make Corcoran a key witness as prosecutors advance an investigation into more than 300 classified records discovered in Trump's Florida home.

Oh no. If the forfeiture of personal residence bill passes, does that mean Mar-a-Lago can be seized because it was used in the commission of a crime. That would be terrible ~ LOL.

I hope the Mara-Lardo staff has plenty of ketchup remover.

Keep on delaying things and the 2024 Presidential campaign will be in full swing..and if the nightmare happens that Trump is elected, he could pardon everyone in sight from his jail cell. He could...well, the mind absolutely boggles.

Unfortunately, Manhattan isn't the case that's going to turn the tide. His followers already knew he's a cheating liar and an adulterer and it didn't budge them an inch. It didn't seem to bother his wife much either. She's still there.

There are three more good shots left, J6, the documents, and the State of Georgia. And, of course, the leverage those indictments would give Ron DeSantis . . . although he's no prize either. DeSantis is the devil you don't know versus the devil you do know.

My question is, if Trump is indicted on any of the cases he's charged with, will he . . .

Get released on his own recognizance?
Show up for court on the word of his attorneys?
Be set a high bail?
Skip the country in his 757?
Bog down the judicial system with endless appeals?
Put a contract out on Michael Cohen's life?
Seek exile in a country with no extradition treaty?
Enter himself in a mental rehab facility?
Ditch the Secret Service and hide out in Michael Flynn's house?
Fake his own death?

Questions, questions. What would a coward like Trump do?

Smith is being very thorough; everybody that could conceivably provide evidence is being asked for that evidence. If Trump is indicted, there will be no surprise witness(es).

SMITH also said he wants Trump's convictions to be "pardon proof."

I wonder how that works?

I'm going to go with faking his own death (see Ken Lay, Aubrey McClendon style) and then be whisked off to Russia or Saudi Arabia. I half expect a long lost Trump "aunt" in a wheel chair heavily covered up to be called Auntie Mamuska Trump (aka Dotard) to be wheeled onto the plane fleeing the country.

Saddam Hussein just said "I am the President of Iraq and this court holds no authourity over me", or something like that.

Didn't help him much, but it was an argument.

In the Manhattan case, the least of Trump's worries, I think he will show up for an arraignment. The one thing he wants to avoid is the media publishing photos of him in handcuff. BTW, that's not an ego thing. It's a "candidate for president" thing.

Once arraigned I think he'll be released on his own recognizance. Beyond that I think there will be a flurry of motions to delay, delay, delay a trial (Just call me Captain Obvious). In the end, I think Trump will quietly cop a plea and get off with the most minimal of sentences, whatever that may be. Perhaps even ordered to divest himself of any operational control of Trump Org. due to the records falsification charge.

The J6 and State of Georgia indictments are less likely to be handled with such kid gloves. We'll need another few threads on this site to rake those over the coals. And maybe some air traffic reports covering the movements of Trump Force One.

As for the Secret Service protection, I think the answer is "Yes." As a former president Trump will continue to receive Secret Service protection until he is behind bars . . . or declared a fugitive from justice by Interpol.
