Biden trip to Florida to take place w/o DeSantis meeting
U.S. President Joe Biden will travel to Florida on Saturday to survey damage from this week's Hurricane Idalia, but a visit with the state's Republican governor, Ron DeSantis, is not scheduled, despite the president's assertion that they would meet.

Woof, politics over the welfare of the People of Florida?
That is how Gov DeSantis seems to be playing this....

Then get busy, shake yer tail, and make them. Punkass attitude does nobody any good in a disaster. (By "disaster" I mean the hurricane, not the DeSantis campaign.)

So the president of the United States visits a devastated state to assess damage and reassure the citizens of the country's support. And the governor of that state refuses to meet with him? Because it might harm his failing campaign? Ron DeSantis is one petty son of a bitch.

I have to wonder if DeSantis would be just as surprised as Trump was, if he becomes President.

Republicans are brats. They're petulant children. They represent the worst aspect of society.
So are their voters.

DeSantis is a petty little bitch, and he's being very short-sighted. He should have treated Biden the way he would want governors to treat him should he become president someday.

Not a fan of Scott, but kudos to him for meeting with Biden and showing the kind of bipartisanship the American people value in the face of disaster:
Sen Rick Scott: "Can I just say something real quick about what the President has done?
First off, the President did a great a job with the early declaration before the storm hit the coast.
That was a big deal. It helped all these first responders."

All he needs are Russian trolls to influence some dumb segments of American voters.

I'm sure Dark Brandon is counting his lucky stars. Sharing a stage with Tiny D might have just caused him to fall asleep in public.

Sounding a lot like Chris Christie. (Who I still think will end up on the ticket.)

I would like to see Biden v Christie. Two moderates, debating real issues.
Not ------, bigotry, and conspiracies (both real and perceived).
But the rabid Republican base will never go for anything that resembles reasonableness.

Biden should be all over DeSantis about this. Say publicly that he reached out in the spirit of cooperation, DeSantis refused, but the support will go on regardless.
I want to see more offense against these MAGA fools. Quit ignoring it and expecting Americans to just figure it out.

HORSTNGRABEN
Biden's campaign advisers are telling him the same thing ~
I'd add in a little horn blowing about all the good legislation/funding for projects Biden has accomplished, in spite of strong Republican opposition.
Biden is so low key, working behind the scenes, that the public isn't aware of what a monumental job President Biden is doing for them, not just domestically but internationally as well.
Biden had a steep hill to climb after a maniacal four years of Trump's pre-emptive efforts to divide and destabilize America, at home and abroad, setting the stage for the Republican Party to move in for the kill in 2024.
It's noteworthy that domestic Republican arsonists like McCarthy and his minions are still in prep mode to literally fire bomb the country to the ground with fear and intimidation if Trump gets re-elected.
I also worry sometimes if the Capitol Building in D.C. will be Americs's Reichstag.

Memo to Casey: Encouraging your Ronnie to present himself as an ill-mannered boor is ... well, shall we say, just not done, my dear. Just. Not. Done. So, dear, do try harder but, honestly, make it look less like a job you hate. People are stupid, yes, but not as many are quite as stupid as you think. ~ Jackie O
