Shades of 1941 and Members of Congress protecting Nazis from prosecution and the America First movement supporting Nazis and working to spread Nazi propaganda and shutting down any reporting and blocking a Justice Department investigation into their activities.

No one was ever prosecuted because of the members of Congress obstruction of justice but they were all subsequently voted out of office. They successfully blocked any legal action against Nazis or themselves but the voters had the final decision and they threw the all the bums out.
