Hundreds of people are feared dead in eastern Libya after heavy flooding caused by Storm Daniel swept away entire neighbourhoods and wrecked homes in multiple coastal towns, with the city of Derna "cut off completely" following the bursting of two ageing dams.

Oil hit a 10-month high after this. That was a lot of water.

Death toll is up to 6,000.

The infrastructure in Libya was obviously not prepared for that much water. Getting prepared for climate change is expensive.

Once the first dam failed the second dam was doomed.

I have never been to Libya but I bet the most expensive real estate was along side the river.

"Was" being the critical word here.
