There appears to be very little that doesn't set wide-eyed Republicans to soiling themselves these days, the southern border ranking high on their night sweats list. Having lived on and in close proximity to that border for many years and, now, in a heavily Hispanic/Latino area with oodles of immigrants. Definitely with the Tijuana mayor on this, and definitely not with the wall-builders who just stink up the place and throw tantrums when asked to help clean up their mess.

Yes, all those Republicans in NYC and Chicago angry that their communities are being flooded with illegals. Just wait until those people realize their school funding will be diverted into more English as a Second Language programs and the already failing schools completely cease to function.

What a brilliant political statement.

Look the issues on the border are mostly Cartel related and that is a Mexico problem. Mexico needs to fix that problem. I actually learned a lot about this recently - I still feel for most of these people crossing but there are a lot that should not be.

1. To get into the Mexican counties next to the border - you have to pay a cartel.
2. You cannot just walk up to the border and request asylum or to enter - I mean you can and you would be allowed to enter with the right words so your case could be heard but the cartels will not let you.
3. You need to pay the cartels in the area a fee to cross illegally.
4. The cartels pay people on the US side to pick you up and speed you away. Like literally - they tell them to drive as fast as they possibly can. They are using kids not old enough to have a permit all the way to adults recruited usually through social media in what amounts to disposable cars.
5. There are not enough Border Patrol agents to take care of the border by any stretch of the imagination. The Cartels know this and use tactics to draw them away from where they want to work. The BP agents know this but have to respond.
6. If you surrender, you say the right words, you get to stay in the US pending a hearing but the Cartel usually tells them to run.
7. People are ditching their papers and any evidence of where they are coming from before crossing, they are by no means all Central Americans or even close to it anymore.

Fix the Cartel issue and the border is suddenly manageable. It's up to Mexico to fix the Cartel problem unless they want to invite the US to do it.

Tell these people that they will not be allowed to enter the US and the problem goes away. They continue to come because they know the Democrats will let them in - PERIOD.

Clodio sounds like Sean Spicer.

I sound like someone that has common sense.

-------- like GALAXIEPETE think that making it easier to reach the border and enter the US will result in a lower flow of illegals.

Frankly, I hope the Dems do nothing. This issue is sinking them in the polls. Trump will clean it up permanently once he wins in 2024.

I really hope they do something more than send out work authorizations.

Actually it would be worse. The cartel is creating a reason NOT to go, a friction if you will, a barrier to entry (unlike the border patrol).

Remove the cartel and what would stop people from coming?

The exact point I made enough. Even the dumbest of the dumb 'Sanctuary City' liberals are waking up to the disaster of this policy.

What's hurting Americans more than immigrants is corporate greed and unprecedented profits.

What's hurting the future of America is the destruction of Public Education.

What's hurting America is for profit Healthcare. Insurance companies. Pharmaceutical companies.

What's hurting America is scapegoating immigrants.

When the problem is the rich.

Lunkheads.

"What's hurting Americans more than immigrants is corporate greed and unprecedented profits."

Corporate profits are down asshat. They were temporarily inflated due to high inflation and used FIFO accounting for inventory. There were down 5.9% in the first half of 2023 already and it is going to get much worse.

"What's hurting the future of America is the destruction of Public Education."

This destruction is due to the flood of illegals in large part along with greedy teachers' unions demanding unrealistic retirement accounts. Public school spending was $14,347 per student in 2023 basically growing 3.6% per year since 1990 despite having ever worse student performance.

"What's hurting America is for profit Healthcare. Insurance companies. Pharmaceutical companies."

Might want to get your Pfizer tattoo lasered off your arm -------.

"What's hurting America is scapegoating immigrants."

That ain't scapegoating. Our open border is suppressing unskilled wage growth, keeping unskilled US citizens out of the job market, and bringing in death through drugs like fentanyl.

Yes - why on earth should intelligence and hard work be rewarded when we can live in a communist paradise. Did you miss the 20th century? We tried your path - it was a disaster.

I wasn't aware Eisenhower presided over a communist nation.

He presided over a world that had a majority of production capacity destroyed in war while the USA was untouched. Today is not the same.

So that's why they taxed the rich during his presidency.

But if we do it now it's communism?

You're brain dead.

You're right. "Corporate" is now stuffing apartments with these refugees left and right.

In some cases, they're kicking out Americans who have lived in some of these places for years by jacking up the rents that some program is now willing to pay.

I've seen an apartment community turn into a little Afghanistan, Central America, Haiti and Mexico inside of 6 months.

So yes, you are right.

"Coporate" is cashing in on a crisis that has no end in sight.

They taxed everyone.

The marginal rate for the lowest tax bracket was 22.2%.

Do you like those numbers?
