Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Wednesday, September 20, 2023

Journalist Matt Laslo wrote in a post to X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, that a motion to vacate from Representative Matt Gaetz, a Florida Republican who has been a staunch McCarthy critic, was found in a bathroom located beneath the House floor Tuesday afternoon. Newsweek has not immediately verified the legitimacy of the document. When reached by Newsweek Tuesday afternoon, a Gaetz spokesperson declined to comment. Newsweek also reached out to McCarthy's office for comment via email.

I wish they'd stop saying this.

Stop associating it with a more successful concept and company.

Let it be X and let it die its slow, agonizing death.

Kev helped create this monster. It should come as no surprise when the monster eats him.

I'm surprised they didn't do it in the first week.

Oh look, another fake headline on the Retort. Quick, promote it to the front page!

They're clearly is a plan to remove him from the position. Why else would such a a motion exist?

What happens when they do? Do they just stick someone else in there or do they have to do the whole voting dog and pony show again?

I wonder why they're writing up motions to vacate and then leaving them laying around like they are then..

Seems like a weird thing for Matt Gaetz to create just because he's bored and the local middle school cheerleaders don't start practicing for another hour, dun'nit?

It's hard to believe that it's the only one that existed, in'nit?

The one they accidentally dropped is the only one.

Sure.

On another note, was Matt Gaetz in the White House any time close to when the cocaine got dropped?

He seems to struggle holding on to things.

You believe everything you see written down in a bathroom is legit? Okay...

There's been rumors and innuendo about removing McCarthy since day one. This just seems to be more of that. A bathroom document that no one can verify the legitimacy of does not support the presumption in your silly headline.

#10 | Posted by sentinel at 2023-09-20 08:58 PM | Reply

The reason I don't think they will remove him is simple: Who would take his place? In January there was speculation Steve Scalise could take McCarthy's place, but with Steve's current health issues, I doubt he'd take the job.

It was printed off of a printer in the office of Matt Gaetz.

The republican party should get its 2 most potent operatives on sorting this conspiracy out.

I'm referring to Cat Turd and some other guy on Twitter, of course.

They need heavy hitters to crack this conspiracy.

Someone used a printer in the office of Matt Gaetz.

One has to wonder where it really came from though, right #10?

The upper right hand corner of the document.

There's a god damned picture of it in the article.

Is this regular behavior for you?

You seem to have accused me of a misleading headline for an article that you didn't even click on the link to.

It's actually the left hand side at the top.

Ma'bad.

I could have told you that Matt Gaetz had a confession tattooed on his ------- and there was a photo of it in the article though and you wouldn't know any different.

So you're using the content of a document whose legitimacy cannot be verified as proof of its legitimacy?

That is not even remotely clever or amusing as a troll.

#17 | Posted by sentinel at 2023-09-21 10:18 PM | Reply

Simple proof of legitimacy will be time. They either will or they won't. The document in question might just be the horse's head in the bed.

I wonder why Matt Gaetz isn't denying it.

Weird, right?

Since you're convinced it wasn't him you'd better get the right's greatest mind on unraveling this conspiracy.

Hit Cat Turd up on Twitter.

I doubt he's busy.

So, will McCarthy start promising Dems stuff so they allow his speakership to survive?

Why not? He's promised everything to everyone on the repub side.

I don't see the Republicans voting in a more moderate speaker than McCarthy. I think they should keep him.

And it would be nice to see dems step up and work with McCarthy and more moderate republicans. They might accidentally come up with a meaningful bill.

Right after I retire early to my ocean front property in AZ, where the climate never breaks 80F.

Democrats have absolutely nothing to lose working with him.

They second he dicks them over they can allow the sedition caucus to ---- can him.

#25 | Posted by tres_flechas at 2023-09-22 01:46 AM | Reply

The Freedom Caucus seems to be bent on burning it all down if they can't have their way. In this line, it would be so in character for them to call for McCarthy's removal, just to prevent progress if it looks like a deal is made with the Dems to bypass them and render their objections mute. For the now, that's my speculation as the swamp continues to stink.
