The transition to Lachlan Murdoch's leadership as sole chair of News Corp will be effective in mid-November.

Fox Corp's brands include Fox News Media, Fox Sports, Fox Entertainment, Fox Television Stations and Tubi Media Group. News Corps is composed of media businesses that primarily operate in the U.S., Australia and the United Kingdom.

"We thank him for his vision, his pioneering spirit, his steadfast determination, and the enduring legacy he leaves to the companies he founded and countless people he has impacted," Lachlan Murdoch said in a statement. "We are grateful that he will serve as Chairman Emeritus and know he will continue to provide valued counsel to both companies."

And so endeth the reign of global democracy and truth's most corrosive destructor. The negative impact of his life's work will unfortunately reverberate long after he's gone.

This is like when Franco died.

Except no one expects Fox Corp to stop being fascist.

Roger does this great news not demand dancing bananas?

Don't forget it will be tacky when he dies in a few months.

Rupert Murdoch did more damage to the world than any foreign enemy.

He platformed and promoted climate change denial for decades, adding to the costs and deaths from climate change, made suckers mistrust experts and scientists, which resulted in more deaths from covid and the election of trump. Every country where Murdoch owned media, climate change denial flourished.

He helped the lying bush administration lie us into iraq and attacked opponents as anti american, resulting in a 7 trillion dollar war and ongoing chaos in the mideast, a flood of migrants into europe creating a fascist uprising as backlash.

He sold out any scrap of integrity or accuracy to appeal to the trump morons, spreading all of trump's lies as truths, covered for his many crimes, and knowingly spread lies about election fraud until his viewers supported a coup attempt, simply because he was afraid to lose profit share to smaller upstart networks that were even more willing to lie to the moron crowd.

But the worst part is that he created an alternate delusional reality for gullible angry people, where truth isn't truth and facts aren't facts. Taking their justified anger against an unjust system and aiming it at phantom enemies. Family members got sucked into this world and it tore families apart and set americans against americans. When the civil war breaks out, much of the blood will be on murdoch's hands.

"Satan Retires"I've always pictured his retirement to a place much hotter than Florida.

Satan out. Screwtape in.

I would not be surprised if this is either a requirement from the Dominoin lawsuit, or an attempt to dodge liability for future suits. It could be that Rupert is dying and this is a convenient way to get him out of the way so the NewsCorp stock doesn't tank upon his death. I doubt there will be much change in the programming, and the new regime will not be running out to steal away the talking heads at CNN and MSNBC ...

#6. Speak...

"Rupert Murdoch did more damage to the world than any foreign enemy."

Absolutely. Without question. He is this nation's single most vile
piece of -----, that has actively worked to DESTROY the fabric
of this once great nation...

And Republicans (ala Reagan, and the loosening of broadcast regulations
in the 1980's) let him get away with it. That alone, should have served
as fair warning on what they had planned for America.

The GOP has not been interested in Democracy for over 50 years,
maybe, not since Eisenhower...

The only headline about Rupert Murdoch I'm interested in is the one that says he's dead.
