I can't watch videos like this or really anything that includes violent content, but I watched this long enough until it got physical. The woman sounds entirely rational. The dude's silence is scary as ----. It's not the woman who needs to be committed.

That was a kidnapping the person who was filming it should be charged as an accessory.

"That was a kidnapping the person who was filming it should be charged as an accessory."
While reading it I had the same thought.

How is it legal for a cop to commit anyone that they are related to or regularly interact with?

I read the article and the noticed the caption under the imsge of him holding her down. zso, he's mattied? Now I feel like his wife should be under some form of witness protection. That guy is dangerous and should certainly never have a badge and a gun again.

Court Rules That Domestic Abusers Can Possess Firearms The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals voted to allow domestic abusers to have access to firearms, even if they have a restraining order filed against them. newrepublic.com

I don't need to see videos on domestic violence. I see it in my job when I cover the ER. After decades of interacting with patients of domestic abuse, I always thought I'd become immune to it. Nope. I'm just as angry as that 22 year old newbie medical technologist that I used to be. And when I hear that one of the abusers got his just reward, I smile--to myself.

@#12 ... always thought I'd become immune to it. ...
Back in a prior life (4 or 5 decades ago), I used to work out at a local gym.
One of the others there was an EMT.
As we were moving iron against gravity, he used to talk about how his work affected him.
When I talked with him, he used to say that he wanted to help people. But what he saw and experienced may be too much for him to deal with.
After a while, he stopped coming to the gym. I had always hoped he was OK because his efforts to want to help people seemed to be so good to me.
But I never saw him again.
