One of the two opponents on the debate stage could be elected president in 2024--and it ain't Bootsy...

I think debating DeSantis is unwise because it raises his profile as a candidate. That said, it should be pretty easy for Newsom to show the country that DeSantis is a wooden nerd in platform shoes.

Wow, Newson is running. How can that be when Joe has been such a great leader?

Newsom isn't running. And Biden is old.

Newsom is absolutely running a shadow candidacy. He wants infrastructure and name recognition on day one if Biden croaks or withdraws.

I'd argue JB Pritzker of IL is doing the same thing, though much less visibly. He recently launched his "think big america" PAC that's doing nationwide work. I'd actually prefer him to Newsom but either would be an upgrade from Biden.

Apparently Newsom thinks he's the governor of Florida.

Good thing California is in such a good shape he can use our tax dollars to attack DeSantis.

Because he's always seen the governorship as a stepping stone to becoming the president.

Why do you care?

You're going to vote for the criminal and Russian asset, Donald Trump again.

Because that spoiled brat, loser makes you feel better about yourself.

He has to be running. No point in getting in early just to become a right-wing punching bag from now until Iowa. Prizker is a good call, too and for the same reasons and Newsom. He already has profile, he has a big war chest + a gazillion dollar personal net worth.
If we're making a wish list I'd like Chris Murphy who seems to be raising a lot money for a seat could win with a roll of quarters.

Someone has to run, FFS. Polls are consistent that ~75% of Americans dont want Biden run. That's a big number. He isn't too old to be President, but he is too old to be President and sustain an 18hr-a-day campaign schedule.

"Because that spoiled brat, loser makes you feel better about yourself."

You think people feel better about themselves after they vote? I never thought about that because I don't. Voting is so much about voting for the lesser evil that I rarely feel good after I vote.

It's probably why I am a fence sitter, at least in part. I don't try to own a vote like many seem to. I'm not afraid to vote for someone and then criticize the hell out of them whenever I feel. I don't feel the obligation to defend someone I voted for.

Ugh. We need better than Newsom. Gun grabber center-right garbage.

Remember the REAL left will always oppose disarming the workers. And Newsom has pulled some nasty anti-union stunts.

I don't see Trump as the lesser evil and I don't want Biden.

But. I do believe Trumpers - people who worship Trump, believe all bad news about him are lies, and still believe the election was rigged - will feel happy should they get a chance to vote for him.

Gabriel Felix Kofi Amo, son of Liberian immigrants, great smile, secures all 4 of Rhode Island's electoral votes. The campaign slogan can be: "So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish"

"It is a well known fact that those people who most want to rule people are, ipso facto, those least suited to do it. To summarize the summary: anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job."
