Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

PSAKI: So- there's been so much speculation, contemplation, discussion of what Trump wanted to do, what he knew or didn't know. I mean, do you think, as a prosecutor, former prosecutor, this is something that could be useful in the case against Trump? How it will be used?

GOLDMAN: Yeah, welI ... I mean, look. He says "I would be well received" because he knows the people who were there are his supporters who he riled up and incited to invade and riot at the Capitol and try to disrupt the proper accounting of the Electoral College votes. So every time he talks, he's putting himself into a bigger criminal hole. But that's not his objective. His objective is purely political, at this point. Politics don't work in the courtroom, as I think he's finding out in the New York Attorney General's case in New York, the civil case. And that's going to continue in his criminal trials. But his rhetoric is really getting dangerous, more and more dangerous. And we saw what happened on January 6th, when he uses inflammatory rhetoric. Now, in his recent Truth Social post is incredibly, incredibly scary for anyone that might be trying to work in government. And it is just and unquestionable at this point that this man cannot see public office again. He's not only unfit, he is destructive to our democracy and he has to be- he has to be eliminated.

Rep Goldman seems to be trying to walk this one back...

Rep. Dan Goldman Clarifies Controversial Remark About Former President Trump

... In a recent incident that underscores the criticality of language precision, Representative Dan Goldman had to clarify his use of the word eliminated' in relation to former President Donald Trump. The statement, which could have been perceived as endorsing violence or extreme measures against Trump, was clarified by the Representative as an unintended miscommunication.

Goldman's Contentious Remark

Democratic New York Rep. Dan Goldman, in a conversation with MSNBC's Jen Psaki, mentioned that former President Donald Trump must be eliminated.' This statement seemed to insinuate that Trump posed a threat to American democracy and should not be permitted to hold public office again. The apparent endorsement of political violence through his choice of words drew public criticism, compelling Goldman to later clarify his stance.

Clarification and Apology

Goldman, upon realizing the possible misinterpretation of his comment, clarified that he intended no harm towards Trump. He acknowledged his error in selecting the term eliminated,' expressing regret for his choice of words and offering an apology. He explained that his original intention was to highlight the potential danger of Trump's rhetoric and not to propose any form of harm or illegal action against the former president. ...

He voted to censure Rashida Tlaib for less.

Thx for that.

Statement from Congressman Dan Goldman on Vote to Censure Rep. Rashida Tlaib

... "The First Amendment protects free speech " including hate speech " for all, including members of Congress. But as elected officials held to the highest integrity, we are bestowed with the public trust that confers a greater responsibility with the words we choose. We therefore must not promote hate speech nor incite violence with our comments.

"During the past month, Representative Tlaib promoted misinformation that inflamed violence around the world, including against United States embassies, and used a hurtful antisemitic trope central to Hamas's charter " "from the river to the sea" " that is widely understood to call for the elimination of Israel and all of the Jews living there. This expression has been widely used in support of violent protests against Israel around the world.

"I reached out to Representative Tlaib privately in advance of Representative McCormick's introduction of the censure resolution to communicate to her the hurt and harm her words have caused and how they have been received by many in the Jewish community. I urged her to make a public clarification, but she refused.

"Just like we cannot allow public officials to make racist statements against any group nor to incite violence through racist speech, we cannot allow elected officials to do the same against Jews.

"For these reasons, I voted to censure Representative Tlaib, and will do so in the future for any member who uses discriminatory hate speech against any group " including the Muslim community " and inflames violence with false statements or misinformation." ...

Yeah, Rep Goldman may have some character-building ahead of him for his comments.

My view, he screwed up, big time, with his comment about fmr Pres Trump. And I readily admit, that may be an understatement.

Sundays - Here's Where The Story Ends (1990)

Lyrics excerpt...

People I know, places I go
Make me feel tongue-tied
I can see how people look down
They're on the inside

Here's where the story ends

[Verse 2]
People I see, weary of me
Showing my good side
I can see how, people look down
I'm on the outside

Here's where the story ends
Ooh, here's where the story ends

It's that little souvenir of a terrible year
Which makes my eyes feel sore
Oh, I never should have said the books that you read
Were all I loved you for
It's that little souvenir of a terrible year
Which makes me wonder why
And it's the memories of the shed that make me turn red
Surprise, surprise, surprise

Eliminated... like America needs to take a Trump dump.

Truer words were never spoken.

5 DC cops were eliminated because the demented orange pedo incited an insurrection.

Trump really does need to be eliminated by Republicans in the primaries. His campaign can only destroy their party.

Thank goodness Goldman didn't take a page from Trump's vermin playbook and say Trump needs to be exterminated. The difference between Goldman and Trump--and even Goldman and Tlaib--is that Goldman used the term once, admitted he made a mistake/misspoke and apologized for it.
