A New Haven [CT] attorney has likened a Connecticut judge to a "conspiracy theorist" and suggested that compassion for Sandy Hook families deprived Alex Jones of impartial treatment when a Waterbury jury ordered him to pay $965 million in damages last year.

Jones' attorney Norm Pattis in a 14-page argument to the Connecticut Appellate Court this week calls the October 2022 jury trial in Waterbury that stunned observers with the size of the award a "horrible case" of "litigation lotto" that "called into question the integrity of the Connecticut judicial system."

"Mr. Jones was an unwilling and often defiant participant in the litigation initiated by the (families) ... And yes, he testified in the jury's presence that he had contempt for the trial court judge," Pattis wrote. "Given the manner in which the case was handled, his response was understandable."

Pattis argues that the appeals court should "reverse" the verdict and send the case back to a different trial judge because the Sandy Hook families and their attorneys held all the cards. ...

Jones should have come up with some kind of insanity plea... easy peasy to prove in his case.
