Donald Trump couldn't repeal Obamacare in 2017, largely because it had become too popular. It's even more popular now.

Last heard on 'Meet the Press' and other news organs, Bootsy Death Sentence is jumping on the train to nowhere by claiming that he has a double-secret plan to 'supplant' the ACA. Uh huh. Just like Paul "Eddie Munster" Ryan and the Tea Partiers. Funny how all these great plans to make the ACA better are 'secret' and can only be described if/when voters smarten up and elect the clowns keeping the secrets...

Truly a gift from Trump to Biden's campaign.

Elizabeth Warren says otherwise.

Literally saved a buddy of mine's life a month and a half ago. 3 weeks in ICU. He lost his job and associated health insurance in 2020. If not for the Affordable Care Act he would not have been insured.

I also lost my job and health insurance when laid off 2020. Obamacare bridged my time being uninsured. I was fortunate enough to not have to use it beyond standard check ups.

Obamacare sux.

Only in the US would one political party stand behind paying FAR MORE for healthcare, with worse ACTUAL healthcare, than the rest of the developed world.

The only thing that makes Obamacare look good, is that the Republicans/Trump have NO pragmatic plan to replace it.

If/when Trump declares himself Dictator, what makes anybody think "popularity" will mean anything to him. Dictators don't kowtow to the people. Dictators demand that people kowtow to him. . . or else!

Americans are supposed to be loyal to their country not a politician or a political party but Trump did what he could to kick anyone out of any and every office who didn't show him what he felt was due loyalty.

Trump is planning to do this again but on a much wider scale.

In the future Trump has envisioned people will get tattoos of Donald Trump in order to prove they are loyal enough that they can keep their job.

Presidentin' is hard work.

The GOP for years has claimed it had a plan to replace ACA, only you never saw nor heard what this secret plan was. Up front that tells you it's not good. When politicians don't want to take credit for some bill they've dreamed up, you know it's contents are not going to be favorable.

Likely it was waiting on the cancellation of ACA and then it would be produced into a back room, where no one outside had any clue about it and then put into a must pass bill at the last minute with no time for the congress critters to read it before having to vote on it.

"The GOP for years has claimed it had a plan to replace ACA, only you never saw nor heard what this secret plan was."

That's a feature not a bug.

The GOP's last plan for health care is why insulin cost $900 a month. Until Biden and the Democrats fixed that problem.

We keep talking like government is going to remain the same, but with a different President. NOT SO!

If/when Trump declares himself Dictator, there won't be a two-party government nor a system of checks and balances. Any facsimile of a congress will just be loyal bobbleheads just to keep up the pretense.

Dictators are authoritarian rulers who use fear (not legislation) to control the public. Any civil opposition to a Dictator ends up in a kangaroo court, prison or forced into fleeing for his life.

Ref: Russia

If Trump's own crazy talk is any indication, especially about the media, education and social programs you can expect worse, maybe even quadruple, cruelty. Depend on it! He has no, zero, nada conscience.

Didn't Trump have a big binder of a replacement plan he showed 60 Minutes LOL...what happened to that?

The GOP is lucky McCain saved their a*s - had it been voted out we would have had more of a catastrophe with COVID right around the corner and millions w/o healthcare.

Their plan is "don't get sick".

If you do get sick "die quickly" is the rider for that.

The GQP doesn't give a ---- about anyone other than the 1%. Period.

They want to kill ACA, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, Food Stamps, WIC, HUD, school lunches, etc so they can in turn give more tax cuts to billionaires.

Yes and when Lesley Stahl opened the binder it was full of blank pieces of paper.

Obamacare is nothing but a disaster. People forgot about losing their plans to this monstrosity and how much more they have to pay for the privilege to pay sky high deductibles that won't ever be paid unless something catastrophic happens to them. The republicans sent a repeal right to Obamas desk in 2016, they picked up 9 Senate seats in 2014 to repeal that garbage then refused to send Trump the same bill because he actually would have signed it. Republicans are nothing but a joke and that's why Trump is running away with the nomination again because they continue to be a joke.

Trump doesn't care if Obamacare is good or bad. He cares that we call it Obamacare, and not Trumpcare.

That's all it's about.

Just imagine how popular it would be if it was written in such a way that it helped people instead of health insurance companies.

I recall that the first big reveal was on an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper (1), double spaced.

I can still hear the laughter.

Well, it does help people in many ways. No pre existing conditions helps people. The exchange helps people. Medicaid expansion helps people.

What it doesn't do is help people at the expense of insurance companies. Medical loss ratio requirements notwithstanding.
