The Saudis are paying Masters champion Jon Rahm $300 million to leave the PGA and join LIV, which seems like a weird thing to happen when the rival leagues are on the brink of completing their merger to collectively ruin all remaining decency and virtue in the sport. In 2022 Rahm gave this reason for not wanting to LIV: "Would our lifestyle change if we got $400 million? ... I've never really played the game of golf for monetary reasons."

My interest in golf had been casual aside from the majors. Now it is practically non-existent.

I'm not sure it matters that Rahm is taking the dirty Saudi money, since the entire PGA wants to take the dirty Saudi money.

I'd love to be able to live another hundred years when oil is done and Saudis are begging us for water.

It's pretty amazing what an unlimited supply of money can do.

Saudi Arabia has been doing the same thing with the world's best soccer players. Money is no object.

we hear this all the time.

" well....they're going to pay me 500 million for 9 years.....but it's not about the money.
and this guy said he was interested in "growing the game" not the money.
----hogwash
it's always !!!!! about the money.

and that's okay...they're professionals and those people play to get paid....just don't LIE about it.

but this.."dirty money" is disturbing.

still won't dampen my regard for the game.
just like the kneeling BS in pro football.....if I want to watch.. I will watch.
what they do before or after means nothing to me.

and no amount of intimidation or fake moral outrage from anyone will change that....regardless of what kind of ball is used.

Pro sports are owned and controlled by a few select media oligarchs who have stripped vast sums of money and culture from our society to only the benefit of the few, while doingn consistent econonomic harm to many.

What have grossly overpaid pro sports, and the entertainment industry, who coincidentally build and design nothing tangible, and media oligarchs done to give us a stronger broader fairer economy offering more long term opportunites for all average Americans? This mostly benefits the elites, crony capitalists and media that consistently manipulates and takes from the masses to make the few rich but nothing that makes us stronger and more cohesive.
