How gender medicine set itself up for disaster

At a closed-door meeting in 2021, ACLU attorney Chase Strangio declared, "If we take away these health care options, kids are going to die." The scrappy litigator uttered this dire proclamation in an address at the biennial conference of USPATH, the US branch of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health, or WPATH. Strangio has played a pivotal role in the transgender movement's general refusal to offer concessions on the chief principles animating its cause. Most central, and controversial, has been the demand that minors identifying as transgender have access to gender-transition treatments, including puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgeries. Speaking to USPATH, Strangio entreated attendees to infuse legal and political advocacy into their work as doctors and mental-health providers. This battle cry was tempered with a foreboding vision

Big loss for federal censorship regime

We just won Missouri v. Biden. As Missouri's Attorney General, I sued the Biden regime for brazenly colluding with Big Tech to silence Missouri families " censoring the truth about COVID, the Hunter Biden laptop, the open border, and the 2020 election. They tried to turn Facebook, X, YouTube, and the rest into their private speech police, labeling dissent "misinformation" while they pushed their narrative on the American people. Today, after years of unrelenting litigation, we deep state into a historic 10-year, court-enforceable Consent Decree. It directly binds the Surgeon General, the CDC, and CISA: no more threats of legal, regulatory, or economic punishment. No more coercion. No more unilateral direction or veto of platform decisions to remove, suppress, deplatform, or algorithmically bury protected speech.

ESG May Be Eating Away at Your Investments

President Trump recently signed an executive order that aims to end a 20-year experiment in backdoor socialism usurping private wealth to serve special interests. It affirms fiduciary responsibility and extends it to proxy advisers "that prioritize radical political agendas over investor returns." Fiduciary responsibility requires investment managers and advisers to act in "the best interest of the investor," and it applies even when the investor is seeking nonfinancial outcomes such as environmental, social, faith-based or humanitarian gains. Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Paul Atkins's recent announcement that the commission is reviewing Biden-era rules governing so-called environmental, social and governance funds affirms this point. Fiduciary duty requires investment managers and advisers to exercise loyalty and care to ensure that investment objectives, whether financial or nonfinancial, are fulfilled

While there are many political and policy victories Trump supporters can point to after his first year back in office, there are also questions about what might have been. A lingering one is often uttered in the form of a sigh: "What the hell happened to DOGE?" Elon Musk first suggested the Department of Government Efficiency to Trump during the 2024 campaign. A government agency specifically tasked with downsizing bloated federal agencies and rooting out fraud was politically popular, and signing an executive order establishing the agency was one of Trump's first actions upon being sworn in

Gavin Newsom is raising alarms on climate change again"and getting basic facts wrong. The California governor vows to sue the federal government over the Trump administration's repeal of the Environmental Protection Agency's 2009 "endangerment finding," the main legal basis under the Clean Air Act for mandating reductions in carbon-dioxide emissions. Mr. Newsom claims the reversal will trigger "more deadly wildfires" and "more extreme heat deaths." Age-adjusted heat-related death risk in California has risen modestly in recent decades"enough to account for 90 additional annual deaths likely linked to higher temperatures. But he omits the other side: Warming has helped reduce age-adjusted cold-related deaths by more than 5,000 a year. Citing only the tiny heat increase while ignoring the large decrease in cold-related deaths is misleading.

There is only 1 thing voters dislike more than Democrats

Last month, Illinois U.S. Senate candidate Juliana Stratton (the state's progressive lieutenant governor) ran an ad with a not-so-subtle message regarding our president: "F--- Trump." Stratton herself doesn't say this, but she lets multiple other people say it for her. The crude campaign stunt got me thinking: Is this really what Democratic voters want? (That primary election is March 17, as I write this, so it's TBD if her messaging worked.) There's a growing disconnect in America. As our political parties move further to their respective extremes, most voters fall somewhere in between. Whether Republican or Democrat, the majority of Americans simply want what's best for their families and for their country. The Democratic Party is having an especially hard time connecting with its constituents, as witnessed by a steady stream of polls showing just how bad off it is.

On March 7, Israel Flores Ortiz, an 18-year-old illegal immigrant from El Salvador enrolled as a junior at Fairfax High School, was arrested for allegedly fondling the genitals of multiple female students in the hallways during school hours More than two weeks after the students reported the incidents to school officials"and only after his arrest"Fairfax High School Principal Georgina Aye sent an email notifying parents of the incident. [snip] The email notably did not disclose that the alleged perpetrator was an adult who illegally entered the country in 2024, nor that the alleged "touching" extended beyond the victims' "buttocks." One mother of an alleged victim described the delayed email as a "completely sanitized letter" that minimized the harm done.

Democrats' refusal to fund the Department of Homeland Security has exceeded any hypothesis of good faith. It is an unpatriotic attack on America's frontline of defense during a time of war and potential Iranian sleeper cells, and an inexcusable burden on the department's employees. Last week, all Senate Democrats, except John Fetterman, again voted to block funding for DHS. Financed in part by malign foreign powers who seek to defeat the United States, radical left activists have co-opted the Democratic Party. Rep. Brad Schneider of Illinois, head of the supposedly centrist New Democrat Coalition, typifies the illogic. "My concern about DHS is their absolute disregard of the Constitution and American citizens' civil rights," he said, adding "So until we see officers who abuse citizens' civil rights held to full account, until we restore full congressional oversight, I'm not giving another penny to ICE and CBP."

Why do media consistently obfuscate terrorist attacks

      <wordzilla:destination>https://drewholden.substack.com/p/terrorisms-spin-doctors</wordzilla:destination>

Two teenagers, shouting "Allahu Akbar," threw homemade explosives at anti-Muslim protesters near the mayor of New York City's residence. Thankfully, the bombs didn't explode as intended, and the two were arrested and charged with attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction and providing material support to terrorists. Reporters and law enforcement quickly found that the two had very publicly supported ISIS and had carried out the act of terrorism in the Islamic terrorist group's name.

<wordzilla:extended>That kind of tidy, to-the-point framing, apparently, was lost on the legacy media this week. Rather than report the obvious facts, outlets tied themselves in knots to muddy the waters about what had been thrown, and by whom. NBC News called the IEDs merely "suspicious devices" thrown "during [an] anti-Islam rally." CBS reported that "suspicious devices ignited during protests near Manhattan's Gracie Mansion." The New York Times published an all-timer of a headline, "Smoking Jars of Metal and Fuses Thrown at Protest Near Mayor's House."</wordzilla:extended>

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro's neighbors are suing the Democrat, accusing him of stealing a slice of their land to erect an eight-foot-high security fence around his private residence in an "outrageous abuse of power." The neighbors, Jeremy and Simone Mock, are currently duking it out with the governor in court over a 2,900 square foot parcel of land located between their two homes in Abington, Montgomery County, court papers show. The Mocks alleged in a lawsuit filed last month that Shapiro and his wife, Lori, unlawfully seized the stretch of land after initial negotiations to buy it from them went up in flames.

Last week, the New York Times ran an alarming house editorial called "Politicians Are Trying To Control The News," outlining how the "shadow of press repression" is now expanding to "onetime bastions of press freedom" like Hong Kong, Israel, and Donald Trump's United States. Written in the grave tone the paper brought when it published a history-altering essay by Soviet dissident Andrei Sakharov fifty years ago, it was all true, except it left out our country's strangest and most shameful example, one in which the Times played a regrettable part: the case of Dimitri Simes. In August, 2024, the FBI raided the Virginia home of Simes, who defected to the United States in 1973 after being expelled for protesting Soviet involvement in the Vietnam War. A huge team of agents swooped into the empty home " both Simes and his wife were away " and took almost everything ...

B Before dawn on March 10, 2014, a group of roughly thirty migrants awoke in Tijuana, Mexico, packed their belongings, and ate one final meal before attempting to cross into the United States. Some were Mexican nationals who had previously been deported. Others were Central American women and children hoping to reunite with family members who had migrated north years earlier. There was nothing unusual about their intentions. For decades, foreign nationals with similar hopes had arrived at Mexican border cities to prepare for the journey into the United States. What distinguished this group was not why they wanted to cross, but how they intended to do it
