You've been lied to. He never said that or anything close to resembling that.

There is no denying the vile and over the top rhetoric of the left. Demonizing and dehumanizing it's opposition in the worst possible terms (all protected speech).

We had the Scalise shooting which was intended to be a massacre. 2 attempts on Trump. Firebombing of Jewish protestors. Kavanaugh. 2 Israeli staffers. The CEO of United Health. Family Research Council attack, Charlie Kirk ... .

Let's focus on Kirk, the response by some on the left by people with an actual microphone and audience has been appalling. On social media it's been worse. Essentially, "He got what he deserved. Now, who's next?!?"

A career criminal, George Floyd, gets killed and the response was 6 months of rioting with more than a dozen killed, over 1500 police officers injured, livelihoods lost and $2 billion in property damage. So far with Kirk, it's been vigils and calls for political action with people mobilizing to take Kirk's baton trying to pick up where he left off on a grand scale. His prove me wrong' tours were brilliant and the left has no counter. Until lefties rediscover their own humanity they have no business anywhere near the levers of power and this most recent killing may have lit a powder keg of people jumping into the political fray to get out there and bury these cretins politically.

I don't pay much attention to Steven A Smith. I stumbled across this monologue on YouTube and thought it was pretty powerful.

You make it sound like it's a bad thing. Either that, or you are treating it like the "shotgun" game teenagers play. The first person who calls shotgun gets to ride in the front seat, the others are stuck in the back seat - as long as one points the finger first, nobody else can point back even if the standard is consistent.

I'm not claiming that it does. My point with that comment is right now we really know very little about this guy other than an apparent hatred for Kirk.

I wish both sides would dial it back. Nevertheless, even if this guy embraced extreme leftist rhetoric and it served as the inspiration or motive for this shooting, the fact that he went that far is on the the shooter alone.

The protests ended long before Obama left office. The protests morphed into working toward getting Tea Party pols elected. And they had some success - it was called the "Freedom Caucus". From protests to civic action.

Also, the Minute Man movement came about during W over his lax border enforcement. It didn't pull a phoenix and become reborn from the ashes when Obama carried on with similar border enforcement.

Both sides of the aisle people often think they didn't get what they deserved. With the Tea Party it was about reduced government spending and less intrusive government. It certainly was not: "Give us freebies on the taxpayer dime!" That would be miserable people, mostly on the left, "Make taxpayers pay my student loans!"
