"Sycophant" is in the throes of pseudo-intellectual ------------.
To the extent it matters, "big farm equipment" is manufactured in places like Moline IL, Jefferson GA, or Racine WI.....not exactly hotbeds of screeching blue-haired ------- who pay $10 for a cup of coffee and "code" for a living.
The point is, when we reach the (rapidly approaching) point whereby we can no longer vote ourselves out of this ----, the supply chain will collapse and people will very quickly get hungry and desperate..
Most rural people I know produce their own food, their own power, their own water, etc. That doesn't mean we rely upon it for daily existence--it just means we can if we have to.
We also have a network of our peers who produce things we might not necessarily be able to do ourselves, but with whom we can barter when the time comes. Back home, my family and their neighbors have been doing that since the late 1800s...but it's cool to watch the same mentality take hold in places further east where I live now.
May we Live in Interesting Times.
