Republicans Offer Poor Solutions for DHS, ICE, and TSA

After mega-oligarch Elon Musk offered to pay TSA salaries during the ongoing partial government shutdown, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) suggested privatizing TSA and that the airlines be made to pay them: ""Is there evidence that creating TSA has made air travel safer over the past 25 years? If not, then why not let the airlines and airports handle it? Why give politicians the power to play games with the travel of our people?"

US Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) bleated ICE and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) be split from the rest of funding for DHS to end growing chaos at airports around the country.

Status quo and AIPAC-funded politicians from both parties do not want to abolish ICE or DHS, but rather they want to "fix" it. There is no "fixing" ICE and DHS other than completely scrapping these two organs of the American police state. Nobody wanted to "fix" the Gestapo of the Third Reich at the end of the Second World War. Progressives in the US Congress must stand firm on defunding and abolishing ICE and DHS.
