... Since Sept. 4, when police say a 14-year-old opened fire at a Georgia high school, killing two students and two teachers, dozens of threats have rattled Connecticut schools and communities.
It started just hours after the Georgia shooting when Norwich Technical High School was placed in lockdown after bullets were found on a hallway floor. A report of a pipe bomb, posted to social media, then spurred the evacuation of a building that day at Quinnipiac University in Hamden.
Two schools in Windsor and Bloomfield were placed on lockdown the next day as police investigated a concerning comment and a reported weapon, respectively.
Such incidents since have continued for weeks and haven't appeared to be slowing. In recent days, incidents have closed schools in Bridgeport, Ansonia, Torrington and Bristol. ...
