Trump Team Barred from Agencies Amid Legal Standoff

Politico writes about federal agencies having to deny the future leaders access because "the president-elect's continued foot-dragging on signing the standard trio of ethics and transparency agreements with the federal government -- something his team pledged to do shortly after the election."

fed workers are bitching that Musk and Viveck are gonna make them go to to the office 5 days a week.

and that will lead to mass resignations.

oh no.....oh no....oh no....."the humanity"....

ALSO....taxpayers are paying hundreds of thousands of dollars....or more....to lease and upkeep of

buildings where 7 % of the work force shows up....

that kind of BS drove the harris campaign into blowing a billion AND another 20 mill.

and still she was a loser..

For those who have forgotten Trump likes to fire people on Fridays. I expect by week two he will fire his first cabinet official. My guess is it'll be RFK Jr

I love how these s%#^bags claim to hate big, overly powerful government, only to elect and cheer for what's probably going to be the biggest, most intrusive government wielding power they shouldn't have.

Getting an imaginary boogeyman is far more important than maintaining their supposed principles and values.

Break down the bureaucracy

#6 | POSTED BY BELLRINGER

Governance by short sighted stupidity.

#25 | Posted by jpw at 2024-11-25 08:43 PM

"Ethics are bureaucracy!" shouted the Trumpists, who bravely decided that fundraising among rich donors was more virtuous than national security or transparency with the American people.

#26 | Posted by cbob at 2024-11-25 08:58 PM

What do these people do that they will be firing?

These are the people that review and issue permits.

These are the people that review and approve grant applications.

These are the people that develop the regulations that implement the laws that congress passes.

These are the people that audit to assure that money spent by the government is spent correctly and legally.

These are the people that do the research that guides policy and regulatory efforts.

These are the people that enforce regulations.

These are the people that make sure your SS checks are mailed.

These are the people that make sure you get your Medicaid and Medicare.

Etc.

It is childish (I mean infantile) to think that a government can exist or function without a healthy bureaucracy. What is the alternative? For Congress to review and approve permits?

This is reality. Not whatever fever dream people have that the administrative state is some nefarious ungoverned group out to get conservatives.

#27 | Posted by truthhurts at 2024-11-25 09:25 PM

Permits? Grants? Regulations? Audits?

I'm pretty sure they want to get rid of all that stuff.

#28 | Posted by REDIAL at 2024-11-25 09:35 PM

Well, I guess Somalia is one government we can strive for.

#29 | Posted by truthhurts at 2024-11-25 09:42 PM

the president-elect's continued foot-dragging on signing the standard trio of ethics and transparency agreements with the federal government

The president has no ethics and is adverse to transparency.

He's going to preside using executive orders.

BullBringer is elated.

That's what he did the last time, after 4 years of ragging on Obama for doing it.

Followed by endless deflection, excuses and whataboutism.

DOGE isn't a official government department. All Elon and Ramaswamy can do is make recommendations. It's a FACA committee.

en.wikipedia.org

"The Federal Advisory Committee Act defines advisory committee as "any committee, board, commission, council, conference, panel, task force, or other similar group" that dispenses "advice or recommendations" to the President of the United States, and excludes bodies that also exercise operational functions."

Excludes bodies that also exercise operational functions! I can't even. But the good news is, "DOGE" will "dispense advice or recommendations."

Let me repeat this, since it's so funny: the "Department of Government Efficiency" is not even part of the government. It literally has no power of its own. Everything Elon will be doing now, he could have done six months ago.

The result of this exercise will be a report which suggests to various agencies how they should save money. Or something.
