1,000 IDF Pilots Sign Letter Against Gaza Nakba

Reserve pilots who publicly called for securing the release of hostages, even at the cost of ending the Nakba, would be dismissed from the IDF. "Any active reservist who signed the letter will not be able to continue serving in the IDF," in response to a letter signed by around 1,000 reserve and retired pilots. The letter was published on a full page in multiple daily newspapers, directly challenging the policy of war criminal PM Benjamin Netanyahu. Netanyahu had it in his power in Oct 2023 to free the Israeli captives taken by the muqawama simply by releasing any of the thousands of Palestinians who were being held in military detention without trial or hearing prior to 7 Oct 2023. Netanyahu completed two prisoner exchanges in Nov 2023, then used the Gaza War to delay his corruption trial and weaken the Democratic Party in the 2024 Presidential election. Six million antiwar voters stay home from disgust on 5 Nov 2024, sealing Trumpf's win.

In 2003 (before the massive use of drones to kill people from long distance), IDF pilots refused to fly missions over Gaza during Operation Cast Lead because they were concerned about the taking of innocent life: libcom.org

Long distance killing from a computer screen makes drone homicide easier: no blood, howls of pain, body pieces to examine, and less guilt or PTSD for the drone operators. Too bad there aren't enough IDF veterans in Breaking the Silence and other antiwar organizations in Israel to stop the Likudniks: www.breakingthesilence.org.il

Either way, the Two-state solution has been rubbished after too many years of Likud oppression. Google Palestinian soccer teams to see all the purposeful maiming the IDF conducted over two decades to destroy any notion of their nationhood. Many of the Palestinian athletes in Gaza and the West Bank are amputees, thanks to war criminal Netanyahu who began that campaign years ago.
