Alabama Supreme Court rules police can demand to see ID

Ruling in the case of a Black pastor who was arrested while watering his neighbor's flowers, the Alabama Supreme Court said police can demand to see identification during a stop if they are dissatisfied with a person's verbal answers. Justices issued the 6-3 decision last week after a federal judge presiding over a lawsuit about Michael Jennings' 2022 arrest asked the court to clarify whether officers can demand to see a person's identification under the state's "stop-and-identify" law. The minister was arrested when he declined to show Childersburg police identification.

He was on private property and watering plants, stopped for WWB because someone didn't recognize him but LATER recognized him. Maybe I am wrong on this but there are a lot of things about this that just don't add up.

Even in Stop and ID states, if there is no reasonable suspicion that a person has committed a crime, is committing a crime, or is about to commit a crime, the person is not required to identify. (Hiibel v. Sixth Judicial Dist. Court of Nev., Humboldt Cty., 542 U.S. 177 (2004))

"there are a lot of things about this that just don't add up."

He's black.
That's all there is to it.

Precedent is always done with Black cases.

Alabama has taken away privacy protections for all Alabama citizens for their racist beliefs.

That's hardcore racist.
