Ukraine: Eight Investigators for 216,000 Potential War Crimes

In the fifth year of Russia's brutal invasion of Ukraine, war crimes investigations are progressing at a snail's pace, hampered by a severe lack of resources and personnel.

Just a reminder: three years ago, the Pentagon said it was a grave war crime when Vladimir Putin targeted electrical power stations all across Ukraine. Trump is now: (1) consciously emulating Putin, and (2) committing grave war crimes according to the US interpretation of the laws of war.

"By the end of September 2025, when the estimated number of cases was 185,000, only 446 had reached the courts, and only 156 had resulted in a sentence-- less than one in 1,000-- according to a study conducted by the Ukrainian Union for Human Rights in Helsinki. The report also highlights the system's inability to manage such a large number of crimes. These include extrajudicial killings, bombings and attacks on civilian infrastructure, deportation of minors, torture, sexual violence, and enforced disappearances."

An international arrest warrant for war crimes issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) at the Hague remain active for Russia President Vladimir Putin.

An INTERPOL Red Notice has been internationally diffused for this notorious fugitive from justice.

An indictment is merely an allegation. To ensure a fair trial, Mr Putin must be presumed innocent until he is proven guilty beyond a shadow of a doubt at an international tribunal to be held for him in the Hague at a future date.
