All D/FBI are political appointments with a ten-year tenure and there is no legal requirement stipulating the D/FBI must be white, a previous G-Man, Republican, attorney, or male. Only two D/FBI have been dismissed before their ten-year term expired: William Sessions and James Comey.

Like D/CIA, until #45 appointed Gina Cheri Walker Haspel in May 2018, these critical national security leadership positions at FBI and CIA have been the sole province of white males that a white male dominated US Senate has been confirming for decades.

These Directorships have been practically bullet-proof glass ceilings for women and people of color for decades that Kamala can address in her first term. After all, President Biden appointed Lloyd Austin as America's first black SECDEF, breaking that glass ceiling.
