Republicans Have a Town Hall Problem

Republican politicians have been facing criticism, protest, and outright anger from constituents across the country since the beginning of President Donald Trump's second term in the White House.

Nancy Mace Posts Wild Video in Which She Berated a Constituent Confronting Her for Not Holding a Town Hall

... On Saturday, Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) posted a video to her social media accounts showing a heated encounter with a constituent who asked her about holding a town hall meeting in her district which resulted in her yelling, "F ..."

The man asked Mace if she planned to hold a town hall this year. Mace responded by saying she holds them annually and claimed to have already hosted one this year. ...

"I do them every year. You want to keep going? You want to keep harassing me?" Mace said in the video.

The man replied, "I asked if you were doing any this year. It was one simple question."

Mace responded, "You could have gone to a dozen town halls last year."

When the man repeated his question about future events, Mace said, "I've already done one. I'll do plenty more."

During the exchange, Mace said, "And by the way, I voted for gay marriage twice," to which the man replied, "What does that have to do with me?"

Mace answered, "It has everything to do with you."

The back-and-forth escalated as Mace accused the man of being "crazy."

"Because you people on the left are crazy...." Mace said. ...

Republicans are calling their constituents "gay."

Republicans are the people I went to middle school with, who never grew up.

In this instance, that seemed to be an effort by the GOP Rep to deflect concerns sad by a constituent.

Why does the GOP seem to be so afraid of facing their constituents?
