While Offering no Proof, Vance Says ACA Credits Fuel Fraud

Vice President JD Vance criticized Affordable Care Act tax credits on Sunday, labeling them vehicles for fraud

Thune is just lying here. ACA premium support isn't riddled with waste, fraud and abuse. It's reconciled out on everyone's annual taxes, and the only way to commit fraud on it is to literally do tax fraud. He's just making shit up, and he's either too stupid to be a Senator or too evil.

Sen. Mark Kelly says vote on healthcare subsidies alone won't end shutdown
www.politico.com

... As the government shutdown drags into its third week, Sen. Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.) said Sunday that a vote from Republican lawmakers to extend healthcare subsidies will not alone be enough to reopen the government, instead calling on the GOP to pledge to help fix the problem.

"We need a real negotiation and we need a fix," Kelly told host Kristen Welker on NBC's "Meet the Press." "We need this corrected for the American people. For so many people, their health care is running toward a cliff, and if we don't fix this, it's going to go right over it, and having some vote without an assured outcome." ...

Sen Kelly seems to be pointing to the current Trump admin's current practice of ignoring Congress regarding the spending of money approved by Congress.

Stated differently, even if [gasp] Congress meets and approves the healthcare benefits for Americans that Democrats are fighting for, what assurances are in place that Pres Trump will actually implement those benefits?

@#6 ... 2.3Million misstate income to qualify for premium tax credits that make coverage and care more affordable. ...

What percentage of the total are they?

But, more important to me ...

Well, if it seems to be so obvious that they should not have had coverage, maybe that coverage should have been denied for them.

I mean, simple, no?

The CBO seems to have found them.

Perhaps the DOGE cuts have prevented other parts of the Fed government from finding these apparent freeloaders?

@#6 ... Thought it was common knowledge.. ...

And, if it were common knowledge, why didn't VP Vance mention it?

Didn't he know of it, to give a manner of credence to what he is saying?

You have to remember, VP Vance is the person who spoke of immigrants eating pets ...

So why should anyone believe things that erupt from his lips?

@#6 ... Thought it was common knowledge.. ...

From the PDF your current alias cites in #6...

...Estimates of Improper Enrollment.

CBO has no direct knowledge of the intentions of enrollees or others acting on their behalf, so estimating the number of people who have improperly received subsidies for marketplace coverage is difficult.

The agency has, however, specifically estimated that 1.3 million marketplace enrollees improperly claimed the premium tax credit via intentional overstatement of income for 2023; 2.3 million enrollees did so for 2025. CBO is able to estimate the extent of such misrepresentation because it appears in enrollment data as an unusual concentration of enrollees reporting income just above the FPL. ...

Looks like cherry-picking data to me.

Vance doesn't need to offer proof.
He made it clear last year.
He will tell whatever lie he needs to tell in order to garner attention.
A self-confessed liar.
And damn proud of it, too.
Pure, unadulterated trash.

What Jethro Dull meant to say was helping middle class taxpayers afford health insurance is fraud and that money is better spent on penis rockets for billionaires.

Dante Atkins is correct. Unless someone is cheating on their taxes, it gets sorted out on the tax return. It's not fraud when yearly income is sometimes unpredictable. I expect to take a tax hit for this because I underestimated my income for this year.

For most people it will not be deliberate or nefarious, as the partisan Onenut implies.
