ByHeart is expanding its baby formula recall to include all of its products after over a dozen babies who've consumed ByHeart formula have fallen ill with infant botulism. At least 15 babies have been hospitalized with the condition " which is caused primarily by the bacteria Clostridium botulinum and can lead to a deadly infection in infants under 1 year " after being fed with ByHeart baby formula, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. ByHeart initially issued a voluntary recall of two batches of formula on Nov. 8 after receiving a notice from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration about an ongoing investigation into the recent outbreak. On Nov. 11, the baby formula company announced it was expanding the recall to include all ByHeart formula, including its cans and single-serve sticks. The recall comes amid a nationwide infant botulism outbreak. Over 80 cases of infant botulism have been reported since August, according to the Nov. 8 FDA notice.
