$92 million for porta-potties at ‘Alligator Alcatraz’

Over the last few years, Florida has basically been a giant trough for politically connected contractors eager to gorge on tax dollars. With few checks and balances " and zero audits " Gov. Ron DeSantis' administration has spent hundreds of millions of dollars in the name of an immigration "emergency." Some of it was dished out in no-bid deals. Some to companies that first made campaign donations to the governor and Republican Party.

More

A report last week from the Florida Phoenix found the state spent more than $400 million in just six months " with the biggest chunk going to a single company that specializes in porta-potties.

We're talking $92 million in checks cut to a company named "Doodie Calls."

I will take a timeout here to acknowledge that may be the greatest name in the history of outdoor toilets. Porta-props given.

But also ... 92 freakin' million dollars to a porta-potty company??? That's a you-know-what-load of money. All for a company whose registered lobbyist, Brian Ballard, is a fundraiser for both DeSantis and Donald Trump.

Comments

This is the exact reason for the immigration crackdown.

Not violent criminals.

Not rapists.

Not murderers.

Paying off the donors to DeSanturd and Pedo47.

Always follow the money.

Always follow the money.

I was reading some articles yesterday about the money flowing to private prison companies for migrant detention.

One of them mentioned contents of an investor call where an "analyst" (they misspelled piece of s*&^) commented that the massive 700% increase in profits was great and all, but they were only running at 70,000 people when they were expecting cashflows more in the range of 100K people.

It's monetized human trafficking being done right out in the open for the benefit of investors looking for a wide open conduit to the US treasury.

"It's monetized human trafficking"

Correct.
These migrants lives are simply pass-throughs for the Corporate Welfare.

Another thing:
Converting empty warehouses to concentration camps tells us we could also be turning empty warehouses to homeless shelters or job training facilities.

But "We don't have money for that."
And "It's not Government's job to provide for Americans."
