NE: Effects of BBB Kicks in with Medicaid Work Requirement

Nebraska is launching work requirements in Medicaid on Friday, becoming the first state to implement a key pillar of the Republicans' "big, beautiful bill." Roughly 70,000 Nebraskans are covered under Medicaid, but enrollment could decline by between 16,000 and 30,000 people in 2028 due to the work requirement, as well as a new federal provision that states must redetermine expansion enrollees' eligibility every six months instead of every year.

"Enrollees are incredibly confused about the work requirement,"

*** VA Shutting Down Clinics in NYS, Georgia, and Tennessee ***

"Rep. Scott DesJarlais (R-TN) had previously written to the good-for-nothing phony Christian in charge of the VA about the McMinnville closure, saying in his Red State district, with 46,000 veterans, patients will have to drive more than an hour to receive medical care, spending more money on expensive gasoline caused by America's illegal war against Iran on behalf of Israel."

A friend of mine is treated at the VA clinic in Schenectady, NY.

From the link's headline:
Tens of thousands could lose Medicaid coverage

That's not a bug, that's the featured selling point.

They're losing coverage because of tax giveaways to the world's wealthiest 1%.

-But enrollment could decline by between 16,000 and 30,000 people in 2028 due to the work requirement

I seriously hope those numbers are a great embellishment.

But in the event they aren't, it's a sad sad sad example of what we expect from folks on medicaid.

as many as 40% of them cannot manage the requirement or even to understand the requirement.

How many of them are physically capable of meeting the work requirement (including the volunteer options) but simply won't and would rather go with out coverage?

seriously? how many?

This nastiness in Nebraska is just the appetizer.

Just wait until the full impact of the BBB comes crashing down on our heads after the elections on Tuesday 3 Nov 2026, as crafted by sneaky House and Senate Republicans.

On Tuesday 5 Nov 2024, another day that will live in infamy, 76,535,898 roosters, hens, and chickens voted for Colonel Saunders to be their Lord and Savior.
