Actually, the reason for this tread and its comments is simple:

When I recently returned to the Retort, I (only half-jokingly) asked, "When will we be able to post emojis here?" The response was swift: "When hell freezes over!" Well it did get me to wonder about another part of current social media sites, applying avatars to peoples' monikers. You've probably seen some of my "suggestions," especially as it relates to some of the usual suspects (plus some good people here).
